Jackson Smith named to Team Canada Red for 2023 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge
Kennewick, WA – The Tri-City Americans are proud to announce that defenseman Jackson Smith has been named to Team Canada Red for the upcoming World Under-17 Hockey Challenge, set for November 2-11 in Charlottetown and Summerside, P.E.I.
The event features teams from Canada, the United States, Czechia, Finland and Sweden.
Smith, from Calgary, Alta., was selected second overall by the Americans in the 2022 WHL Prospects Draft after scoring 38 points (15-23-38) with Edge School Prep’s U15 team in Calgary.
This season Smith has appeared in all 10 games for the Americans, recording two assists.
Smith is one of just 44 Canadian players named to the event.
