Gavin Garland commits to Ferris State University
Kennewick, WA – The Tri-City Americans are proud to announce that 2006-born forward Gavin Garland has committed to play NCAA Division 1 Hockey at Ferris State University.
Garland, from Calgary, Alberta, played the past two seasons with the Americans after originally being drafted by the team in the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft.
In 122 games with the Americans Garland posted 89 points (37-52-89). He, along with Dylan LeBret, were the only two players to dress for all 68 games during the 2025-26 season.
Prior to joining the Americans, Garland won an Alberta Junior Hockey League championship with the Calgary Canucks in the 2023-24 season.
He becomes the fourth Americans player to secure an NCAA commitment this season, joining Jake Gudelj (Princeton), Cash Koch (New Hampshire) and Connor Dale (Merrimack).
