Americans add four individuals to scouting staff
KENNEWICK, WA – The Tri-City Americans announce the addition of four individuals to their 2023-24 scouting staff. Glen Tosh of Souris, Man. and Andy Thiessen of Calgary, Alta. begin their first full seasons with the Americans after joining the team midway through last season. Josh Hughes and former Tri-City defensemen Shawn Belle start their first seasons of WHL scouting and will focus primarily on the Edmonton and Northern Alberta regions.
“With the retirement of Kim Ridd in Winnipeg, Glen has big shoes and expectations to fill, and has already proven well-prepared and very capable,” stated Americans Assistant General Manager and Head Scout, Roy Stasiuk. “Glen is very thorough and detailed in his reports and played a big role in our selection of four Manitoba prospects: Carter Kingerski, Mason Mykichuk, Ryler Gates, and Wyatt Kelman.
Positions in the Edmonton and Northern Alberta regions became available after the retirements of Lonnie Wilcox in 2022 and Ray Dudra in June of this year. “Josh has experience scouting at the Junior ‘A’ level and brings a level of professionalism in sync with our organization. Shawn brings the perspective of a player to the role of scout and can add insight to both families and our organization,” added Stasiuk.
