Canada’s World Juniors returnees motivated to win gold
Four players on Canada’s 2025 World Juniors roster in particular are motivated to win gold this year.
London’s Oliver Bonk and Easton Cowan, as well as Brampton’s Carson Rehkopf and Lethbridge’s Brayden Yager, were part of the Canadian squad that were eliminated in the quarterfinals a year ago in Sweden.
“The expectations are gold medal and if you don’t achieve that it’s a failure,” Yager said. “It’s a new year, a new group and the chance to redeem ourselves is a great opportunity.”
Canada are in Group A where they will face USA, Finland, Latvia and Germany. All four games will be played at the Canadian Tire Centre.
The 2025 World Juniors get underway Dec. 26 from Ottawa with the final set for Jan. 5. The full schedule can be found here.
