Sportsnet CHL Saturday Showcase: London at Sarnia
The OHL Western Conference’s 402 rivalry comes alive on Sportsnet as the CHL Saturday Showcase features the Sarnia Sting playing host to the rival London Knights.
The red hot Sting enter weekend play as winners in 10 of their last 12 games as captain Jordan Kyrou continues to flirt with the OHL scoring lead, posting 81 points (27-54–81) in just 40 games this season.
Calgary Flames prospect Adam Ruzicka leads Sarnia with 30 goals on the campaign while new additions in Cam Dineen, Jonathan Ang and Michael Pezzetta have paid immediate dividends through their first 10 games as members of the Sting.
The visiting Knights are led in scoring by draft eligible defender and Sherwin-Williams CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game MVP Evan Bouchard who has 63 points (18-45–63) over 48 games. Up front, Ottawa Senators prospect and Canadian World Junior gold medalist Alex Formenton has registered 31 points (16-15–31) through 29 contests.
Sarnia holds down second place in the West Division and enters the fifth of six meetings against the Knights in a season series split at two wins apiece. The Knights won the latest two encounters, taking four points in a New Year’s home-and-home set.
