Valentini’s four helpers power Sens past Admirals
Underage forward Adam Valentini had four assists as the Mississauga Senators topped the Southern Tier Admirals 4-1 for their second win of the 2023 OHL Cup.
Caden Taylor (3, 4) added to his OHL Cup goal total with a pair in the first period to open the scoring for the Sens. Gabriel Trozzo (1) and Briir Long (3) had the other markers for Mississauga.
The 2008-born Valentini spoke about his team’s big performance saying, “It was nice great to have success, but our team as a whole played great, we battled hard, played our game and got the job done.”
“We just have to stay focused, stick to our game, play the way we can, and I know we will have success,” added Valentini, with a potential spot in the quarterfinals on the line tomorrow morning.
With the Admirals lone goal in the contest, forward Michael Kucherawy (1) earned the BARDOWN Player of the Game honours for his team
The 2-1 Senators will look to wrap up their pool play with a win as they take on the London Jr. Knights on Friday at 10:15am. Southern Tier will look to capture their first win tomorrow afternoon against the Barrie Colts.
