Team NOHA comes together for 4-1 victory
Boasting Northern Ontario’s top draft eligible talent, Team NOHA came together for a 4-1 win over TPH Hockey in their first game of the 2016 OHL Cup.
Chad Denault led the way with a pair of goals while goaltender Alex Vendette held TPH scoreless until they ended his shutout with 2:57 remaining in the third period. Dylan D’Agostino and Brett Jacklin also found the back of the net for the winning side while blueliner Jordan Spadafore collected two assists.
Hunter Nofs provided TPH’s lone goal in the loss with assists going to Sean McAvoy and underage forward Tag Bertuzzi.
Team NOHA held TPH to 0-for-7 on the powerplay to claim their first win at the OHL Cup since 2013, breaking a string of nine straight losses.
