Rebels win big over London
The Mississauga Rebels exploded for eight goals to improve to 3-0 at the 2016 OHL Cup with an 8-2 victory over the London Jr. Knights.
Zack Young and Nicholas Canade both scored twice while Thomas Maia had a goal and two assists to help the Rebels record their showcase-leading 19th goal as they sit atop the Shanahan Division.
“Having every line getting in on the scoring is a real strength of ours,” said Young after the win. “We had a tough time scoring goals early in the year but everyone has come together now and it’s a lot of fun when we can create the kind of scoring chances that we do.”
The Rebels took advantage of London’s parade to the penalty box, going 2-for-8 on the man advantage.
Sam Bitten earned Player of the Game honours for Mississauga, scoring a goal and an assist in the win while Brett Fisher earned the distinction for London, scoring a second period goal with an assist from his twin brother Kyle.
