Rathwell earns 4-0 shutout for Ottawa Valley
The Ottawa Valley Titans blanked the Toronto Marlboros 4-0 in their midday matchup. Led by a standout performance from forward Logan Wilson (3), the Titans controlled the pace of play and secured a crucial tournament win.
Wilson, named Player of the Game, tallied two goals and an assist, continuing his strong play alongside linemates Kaden McGregor (1) and David Buchman. McGregor also contributed with a goal and two assists, while Cameron Sheppard (1) found the back of the net to round out the scoring.
Goaltender Brian Rathwell was rock solid between the pipes, turning away all 26 shots he faced to earn the shutout. The Titans’ defense held firm, limiting Toronto’s offensive chances despite the Marlboros’ late push in the third period.
After the game, Wilson spoke about the team’s chemistry and confidence heading into the next stage of the tournament. “We have a great group of guys in the room, and our line especially has been going the last couple of months. Our team’s just rolling right now,” Wilson said.
With the victory, the Titans continue their push in the OHL Cup, proving they are a team to watch as the tournament progresses. They will be back on the ice tomorrow morning.
The Toronto Marlboros will be in action tomorrow afternoon. They will look to channel the offensive prowess they showed in their wildcard matchup.
