NOHA closes tournament with 2-1 win over Hurricanes
In their final game of the OHL Cup, Team NOHA clinched a 2–1 victory over the Halton Hurricanes. Despite the win, both teams finished with identical 1–3–0 records and did not advance to the next round of the tournament.
Nico Bossio (1) opened the scoring for NOHA in the first period, while Grady Dale (1) added insurance with a short-handed marker in the second. Halton cut the deficit early in the third with a short-handed goal from Aleksandr Sementsov (2), but NOHA held firm to secure the win.
Goaltender Bruce Laronde was named NOHA’s Player of the Game after stopping 19 of 20 shots. “I came into the game, it’s like there is nothing to lose,” Laronde said post-game. “We just went out there and gave it our all… Best game of the tournament we played.”
Both teams end their OHL Cup runs with a single win, falling short of Quarter-Final qualification.
