Moore scores twice in Senators victory
Coming off last night’s high-scoring contest, the Mississauga Senators continued their quest to be the best, defeating TPH Hockey 4-1 in their second win of the showcase.
Nelson Vickar stood tall in the TPH crease to open the game, stopping all 18 shots he faced to keep the game scoreless into the second.
Underage standout William Moore (3) led the Senators to victory as he lit the lamp twice in the second, earning his second and third goals of the showcase. Brady Wassink (1) netted a goal, while Malcolm Spence (1) also contributed to the win scoring a goal and a helper.
Mississauga outshot TPH 37-13.
The Senators finished second in the GTHL’s regular season standings, recording 47 points in regular season action. They reached the OHL Cup via a Wild Card Play-In victory.
Moore was rewarded Player of the Game honours for the Senators. The Mississauga-native is a top player to watch for the 2023 OHL Priority Selection. Caeden Heins also received honours, scoring TPH’s lone-goal as they fall to 1-2-0.
Mississauga is back in action tomorrow against Elgin-Middlesex at 4:45pm. TPH takes on the Jr. Canadiens tomorrow at 3:30pm.
