McGregor’s four-point performance pushes Titans into Quarter-Finals
Captain Kaden McGregor (3) had a game high four points (2G, 2A) to help lead the Ottawa Valley Titans to a win past the Ajax-Pickering Raiders and into the quarterfinals at the 2025 OHL Cup.
Ottawa Valley came out flying. Ultimately establishing a six goal lead with goals from McGregor, James Roy (2), Cameron Sheppard (3), Logan Wilson (4), and Carter Scott (1). Titans goalie Brian Rathwell would stop 28 of 30 shots in the contest as the Raiders got a couple goals late from Justin Sekulovski (2).
With a spot in the quarterfinals on the line, McGregor was proud of his teams complete performance, “We were just working hard every shift, focused on the little details, limited turnovers, got pucks in deep and on net, I think we had a good game overall.”
“Everything was definitely going well, but I think a lot of it is because the great passes from my teammates out there James Roy, David Buchman, and Logan Wilson. They were all feeding me and I was able to capitalize,” said McGregor, who despite his success gave full credit to his Titans teammates.
Preparing for a matchup with the Toronto Jr. Canadiens in the quarterfinals tomorrow morning, as McGregor highlights the Titans are happy but not yet satisfied saying, “It’s great to be able to move onto the quarters, but the job’s not finished and we want to compete every shift tomorrow. They got us in the last tournament (Marlboros Holiday Classic), so we’re looking for a bit of redemption.
Ajax-Pickering was led by Evan Giannone who had 3 goals and 1 assist to lead his team with 4 points as the Raiders finished with a record of 1-3.
