Marlies rebound with 3-1 win over NOHA
The Toronto Marlboros had plenty of time to reflect on Wednesday’s 2-1 loss to the Quinte Red Devils and responded with a 3-1 win over Team NOHA early Friday as Danil Antropov and Kevin Bahl had multi-point performances.
Chad Denault opened the scoring with his fourth goal of the showcase for Team NOHA, but the Marlies responded with three unanswered to improve to 2-1 at the 2016 OHL Cup.
“The NOHA team is a hard-working club that we had to battle this morning, and I think it was a positive response to a game that we wanted to put behind us,” said Marlboros coach Steve Devine. “To be honest, I think we took Quinte a little too lightly on Wednesday and learned a valuable lesson. They’re more than a Wild Card team and we should have been better prepared for them. Moving forward I think this win is one we can build off of.”
The win draws Toronto even with Team NOHA in the Nash Division at four points apiece while the Marlies hold a game in hand to be played later on Friday.
Allan McShane received Player of the Game recognition for Toronto with his first goal of the showcase in the win.
