Marlboros finish strong in win over Canucks
The Toronto Marlboros finished on a high note, beating the Elgin-Middlesex Canucks 4-1 to wrap up their 2025 OHL Cup with a win
Max Branton (2), Camillo Milani (1), Kingston Harris (2), and Austin Sylver (1) all scored for the Marlboros. As goaltender Royden Smith stopped 21 of 22 shots in the win for the Marlboros. Myles Dunn scored the lone goal for Elgin in the loss.
Putting in a complete team effort, defenceman Robbie Dragusica spoke about what went well for his group saying, “We played really well, got pucks in, played strong defensively, checked hard, and were able to put the puck in the back of the net.”
“It means absolutely everything, we worked so hard for this all year and to be able to compete and get a win, we had fun doing it and that’s all that matters,” said Dragusica highlighting what it meant to compete at the OHL Cup.
Dragusica also earned Player of the Game honours for his team, while Hudson Leenders earned the honour for the Canucks.
Kingston Harris finished with 2 goals and 4 assists for 6 points to lead the Marlboros in scoring as they finish with a record of 1-3. Elgin’s Chase Griffith (2G, 1 A), Lucas Nutting (2G, 1A), and Will Burgess (3A) all led the Canucks in scoring with three points each as the Canucks also finished at 1-3.
