Majors find offensive stride in 10-2 win over Thunder Bay
After a close victory in their first game of the day the Markham Majors scored early and often in their second win of the OHL Cup Powered by Under Armour, beating the Thunder Bay Kings 10-2.
Leading the way with a four point night was Antonio Cerqua as he talked about the big night to move his team to 2-0.
“It felt great to get my boys a few points out there and get the win,” said Cerqua. He led the way with four points while Zayne Parekh (2G, 1A), Anthony Giacalone (2G, 1A), and Jack Dean (1G, 2A) all had three point performances of their own.
Despite remaining undefeated the Majors know they will have to be at their best the rest of the way as they face a tough Quinte team in their next game as Cerqua looked ahead to the matchup, “We’ve got to prepare for that, get a good nights rest, and come ready to beat them.”
While the Majors play Quinte Thursday afternoon, Thunder Bay will be seeking their first win of the showcase as they take on the Waterloo Wolves Thursday afternoon.
