Majors blank Red Devils to lock up first in Shanahan Division
The Markham Majors locked up top spot in the Shanahan Division and a berth in Saturday’s quarter-finals after a 4-0 win over the Quinte Red Devils.
A close knit group, the Majors brought the energy from the drop of the puck with Liam Greentree (2) opening the scoring. Jack Dean (2) had a game-high two points, while Carson Hall (2) and Lex Terrence (1) also found the back of the net. Jacob Gibbons made 19 saves for his second straight shutout win.
Ryan Tizzard was named Player of the Game for the Majors following an impactful performance featuring an assist on Dean’s goal. Gage Butcher earned Player of the Game for Quinte.
“It feels amazing to get a good win with the boys,” said Tizzard. “They gave me lots of support and I appreciate it.”
Markham will look to finish the Round Robin undefeated as they take on the Huron-Perth Lakers tomorrow at 5:15 pm. Quinte will play the Waterloo Wolves tomorrow at 12:00 pm.
