London Jr. Knights defeat Southern Tier for first win of tournament
An early morning for London, the Jr. Knights earned their first win of the OHL Cup in a 3-2 decision over the Southern Tier Admirals.
In a close game, the Admirals opened the scoring with a goal from Noah Read (1). London would battle back two times with goals from Rowan Reid (1) and Aiden Young (3), but Southern Tier’s Jake Salvatore (1) would tie up the game with an early third period marker. Tanner Ducharme (1) scored the difference-maker for London, getting assists from Parker Snelgrove and Zander Kechego to lift the Jr. Knights to victory.
Ducharme spoke on scoring the game-winner saying, “It felt good to get the game-winning goal but obviously the best part was being able to share the win with my teammates. We stuck to our system and got the job done.”
Recording an assist in the win, Ethan Weir received BARDOWN Player of the Game honours for London, while Noah Read received recognition for the Admirals, who fall to 0-2.
