Lakers and Red Wings tie in Silver Stick rematch
In a rematch of the International Silver Stick Tournament, the Huron Perth and the Toronto Red Wings battled to a 1-1 tie in Lindros Division action.
After Caiden Clair (2) for the Red Wings and Jake Murray (2) for the Lakers scored in the first. Nobody would be able to solve either goaltender with Ian Kubelka stopping 24 of 25 shots for Huron Perth and Cruz Reznik making 22 saves for the Red Wings, as both teams had their chances.
With the pace of the game being high and lots of chances both ways, Reznik discussed his teams performance saying, “It was a pretty even game, both teams had their chances, would’ve been exciting to go for another overtime, but we’re happy to get a point.”
“It’s a great event, everyone treats you pretty well, it’s amazing. Probably one of the best tournaments I’ve played in,” said Reznik highlighting what it means to be a part of the event.
The Lakers have the chance to advance to the quarterfinals with a win tomorrow afternoon against Little Caesars. The Red Wings take on team NOHA tomorrow morning as they look to wrap up the tournament with a win.
