Jr. Knights clinch top spot in Lindros Division with second win of the day
With their 3-0 win over the Don Mills Flyers, the London Jr. Knights have clinched first place in the Lindros Division and advance to the OHL Cup Powered by Under Armour Quarter-Finals.
Cole Collins (1G) opened the scoring for the Jr. Knights and Ryan Roobroeck (2A) tallied his second multi-point game of the tournament, while Liam Spencer (1G, 1A) had two points, earning Player of the Game honours.
Michael McIntyre stopped all 16 shots he faced for the shutout.
“I think it was a good insurance marker,” said Spencer of his goal, which was the third of the afternoon. “It was a big team win, and ultimately it feels good to move onto Saturday.”
“It’s an honour to make it to the Quarter-Finals,” he added. “We have been top eight all year and dropped to ninth once, but overall it feels really good to earn that spot.”
London will play in Quarter-Final number three tomorrow at 11:45 am.
Don Mills finishes their OHL Cup with a record of 0-4-0, with Nikolas Iafrate leading the team in scoring with two points (1-1-2).
