Jr. Canadiens move to 3-0 with win over York-Simcoe
The Toronto Jr. Canadiens got out to an early start as Luka Graziano (2) opened the scoring just 1:46 into action and they never looked back, blanking the York-Simcoe Express 4-0.
Luca Romano (1), Chase Yanni (1) and Luca Morano (2) tacked on goals in the second period while Jake O’Brien finished with three assists.
Alexander Armellin remained perfect in the crease for the Canadiens, stopping all 18 shots that came his way to earn BARDOWN Player of the Game honours.
The first team to 3-0 in the tournament, JRC’s Graziano spoke on how the team continues to succeed, “We went out there and were rewarded by our hard work. We made sure to put the puck in the back of the net. We plan to keep playing our game and see results.”
Looking to lock down first place in the Shanahan Division, the Jr. Canadiens return to action tomorrow against the Sun County Panthers at 3:30pm. The York-Simcoe Express look to return to the win column against the Vaughan Kings at 12:00pm on Friday.
