Jr. Canadiens flex offensive muscle in 6-0 win
The Toronto Jr. Canadiens remain undefeated at the OHL Cup Powered by Under Armour after defeating the Elgin-Middlesex Chiefs 6-0.
The Jr. Canadiens saw several players have multi-point performances as Antonio Tersigni added to his showcase goal total with two including the opening marker 7:45 into action. Porter Martone tallied a game-high four points with a goal and three helpers while Andoni Fimis, Jonah Ziskinder, Michael Hage, Jack Van Volsen, and Jacob Battaglia all had two points.
“It was good to contribute to a big 2-0 start to the tournament,” said Tersigni as he talked about his two-goal performance that helped earn him Player of the Game honours.
Looking forward, Tersigni knows his team will have to keep the energy going saying, “We are looking forward to the next game tomorrow, and coming back with the same energy, and we are ready to win this tournament.”
JRC outshot Elgin-Middlesex 46-11.
The Jr. Canadiens will look to make it three wins Thursday night at 5:15 pm as they take on the Hamilton Jr. Bulldogs. Elgin-Middlesex will be searching for their first win of the showcase as they take on Hamilton Thursday morning at 10:45 am.
