Jr. Canadiens find extra push against Thunder Bay
The Toronto Jr. Canadiens round out their opening day at the 2023 OHL Cup with a 3-1 win over the Thunder Bay Kings.
With lots of scoring chances in the game, captain Jake O’Brien (2), Luka Graziano (1), and Evan Malkhassian (1) all lit the lamp for the Jr. Canadiens in a close victory. “We came out with a big two points in the game, and we’ll look to come out hard tomorrow in a big one against York-Simcoe,” said O’Brien as the 2-0 Jr. Canadiens look to continue their winning ways tomorrow afternoon.
Carter Poddubny (1) scored the lone goal for Thunder Bay, while goaltender Travis VanderZwaag stopped 33 of 36 shots to earn the BARDOWN Player of the Game for his team.
The Jr. Canadiens will look to remain undefeated as they take on a highly skilled York-Simcoe Express team tomorrow at 4:00pm. While Thunder Bay will take on the Vaughan Kings tomorrow night at 2:15pm.
