Hodgson scores hat-trick, TPH blanks Sun County
TPH Hockey came out hot in their first game of the 2024 OHL Cup presented by FPS Payment, blanking the Sun County Panthers 7-0.
The victory saw winning contributions from Jackson Webster (1), Luke Broadhead (1), Cameron Wilson (1) and Noah Keyes (1), while Kam Hodgson (3) recorded the tournament’s first hat-trick to earn Player of the Game honours.
“It was our team’s first game together as a group, I think we made a good first impression and really pulled it together,” said Hodgson. “We got a few practices in over the weekend, and we’re looking forward to showing everyone in the tournament what we’re capable of.”
Peter Chlebowski was solid between the pipes, making 15 saves for the shutout.
TPH returns to action in the morning against the York-Simcoe Express at 9:45am. The Sun County Panthers look to find their way into the win column against the Oakville Rangers on Tuesday at 1:30pm.
