Grigg’s five assists pace Bulldogs past Thunder Bay
Five primary assists from Anthony Grigg kickstarted the Hamilton Jr. Bulldogs’ offence, leading them to a 6-0 win over the Thunder Bay Kings to begin action on Day 3 of the 2016 OHL Cup.
The unit of Grigg centering Marino Moro and Jack Wismer scored early and often as the trio accounted for Hamilton’s first three goals of the game.
“That’s not a normal day for me,” said Grigg with a laugh, “but we had a lot of chemistry going. I’m usually the guy who battles along the boards but today I just found the openings and had linemates who don’t miss too often.”
Moro had a pair of goals and an assist while Bobby Harrison also scored twice for his third and fourth goals of the showcase.
Tanner Sheppard recorded the shutout in goal for Hamilton, facing a light workload as the Dogs improved to 3-0 in Round Robin play, sitting atop the Lindros Division with six points.
“There’ve been a lot of positives from us as a team,” Grigg continued. “We’re focused on our goal and there can’t be any letting up.”
Hamilton’s Jack Wismer recorded a goal and an assist to increase his team scoring lead to seven points (2-5–7) in three games.
