Barr’s 35-save effort propels Lakers atop Lindros Division
In a tightly contested matchup, the Huron-Perth Lakers edged Detroit Little Caesars 1–0 to claim the Lindros Division championship, showcasing strong defensive play and resilience under pressure.
The game’s only goal came early in the first period, as Brandt Rooyakkers (1) capitalized on a penalty kill to score short-handed and give the Lakers a crucial lead. The remainder of the game saw both teams locked in a tight defensive battle, with scoring chances limited and tensions high.
Lakers goaltender Vaughn Barr delivered a standout performance, recording a 35-save shutout to preserve the lead and clinch the division title. “We needed to win that game to secure first place in the division, which is a significant achievement for an alliance team,” Barr said in a post-game interview. “I just focused on supporting the team, especially when we were shorthanded.”
