Kuklinski spent last season with the Mississauga Senators U16 AAA, where he played in 32 games, collecting 59 points, including 35 goals and 24 assists.<\/p>\n

Jakub was a second-round pick of the Oshawa Generals in the 2026 OHL Priority Selection Draft being taken with the 38th<\/sup> pick.<\/p>\n

The Flint Firebirds enter the 2026-27 season looking to build on the best regular season in franchise history. Flint finished last year with a 44-17-4-3 record, remaining in the race for the West Division title until the final weekend of the regular season.<\/span><\/p>\n

That success carried into a historic opening round of the playoffs, where the Firebirds swept the Owen Sound Attack for the first playoff series sweep in franchise history. Flint outscored Owen Sound 35-3, setting an OHL record with a plus-32 goal differential. The series also sent the Firebirds to the Western Conference Semifinals for just the second time in franchise history, where their postseason run ultimately came to an end against the Windsor Spitfires.<\/span><\/p>\n

Flint\u2019s success also earned recognition off the ice, with General Manager Dave McParlan named the OHL\u2019s General Manager of the Year. Now, the Firebirds will look to carry that momentum into a new season despite significant turnover throughout the lineup, opening the door for returning players and new additions to take on larger roles.<\/span><\/p>\n

Starting Six<\/b><\/span><\/span>:<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

* The Starting Six does not represent a projected lineup, but instead highlights six key players to watch entering the 2026-27 season.<\/span><\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

FORWARD | <\/b>Jimmy Lombardi<\/b><\/a>\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

2025-26: 65 GP, 36G, 36A, 72 PTS<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Jimmy Lombardi will be at the centre of Flint\u2019s offence this season following the departures of several key contributors. The Los Angeles Kings prospect is coming off a career year that saw him lead the Firebirds with 72 points while serving as an assistant captain. <\/span>He also established himself as one of the OHL\u2019s top two-way centremen last season, contributing in nearly every situation and taking the second-most faceoffs in the league with 1,544.<\/span><\/p>\n

His all-around play earned him recognition as a finalist for the William Hanley Trophy as the OHL\u2019s Most Sportsmanlike Player, along with finalist honours in the Coaches Poll for both Best Defensive Forward and Best Penalty Killer. Lombardi also recently participated in the World Junior Summer Showcase.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

FORWARD | <\/b>Darian Anderson<\/b><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

2025-26: 60 GP, 20G, 25A, 45 PTS<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Darian Anderson made an immediate impact in his first OHL season, recording 20 goals and 25 assists for 45 points across 60 games with the Firebirds. His strong debut campaign also resulted in Anderson hearing his name called by the New York Rangers in the 2026 NHL Draft.<\/span><\/p>\n

The forward will look to build on that production in his second season in Flint before continuing his career at Clarkson University, where he is committed for the 2027-28 season.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

FORWARD | <\/b>Xavier Tessier<\/b><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

2025-26: 37 GP, 7G, 1A, 8 PTS<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Xavier Tessier returns for his second season with the Firebirds after recording seven goals and eight points across 37 games in 2025-26. With a year in Flint now under his belt, the forward will look to take another step and earn an increased role in the lineup this season.<\/span><\/p>\n

DEFENCEMAN | <\/b>Rylan Fellinger<\/b><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

2025-26: 65 GP, 3G, 13A, 16 PTS<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Rylan Fellinger returns for his fourth season with the Firebirds after putting together a career year in 2025-26, recording 16 points across 65 games. The 6-foot-4 Toronto Maple Leafs prospect has developed into a steady and reliable presence on Flint\u2019s blue line.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

DEFENCEMAN | <\/b>Nick Bogas<\/b><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

2025-26 (U.S. National U18 Team): 37 GP, 2G, 2A, 4 PTS<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Nick Bogas joins the Firebirds this season after Flint acquired his rights from the Sarnia Sting and signed the defenceman during the offseason. The St. Louis Blues prospect comes to Flint with experience from the U.S. National Team Development Program, where he established himself as a reliable, shutdown presence on the blue line.<\/span><\/p>\n

One of the youngest defencemen selected in the 2026 NHL Draft, Bogas has already shown an ability to play in important situations. He logged top-pairing shutdown minutes for the United States at the U18 World Championship and showcased his physical side at the Hlinka Gretzky Cup. Bogas is committed to Michigan State University for the 2027-28 season.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

GOALTENDER | <\/b>Trenten Bennett<\/b><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

2025-26: 27 GP, 3.93 GAA, .896 SV%<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Trenten Bennett brings a new look to the Firebirds\u2019 crease after being acquired from the Owen Sound Attack during the offseason. The 6-foot-8 New Jersey Devils prospect appeared in 27 games last season, recording nine wins along with a 3.93 goals-against average and a .896 save percentage.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bennett\u2019s size immediately stands out, with only four players taller than him ever selected in the NHL Draft. The 2006-born netminder will look to make an impact in his first season in Flint before continuing his career at St. Lawrence University, where he is committed for the 2027-28 season.<\/span><\/p>\n

Breakout Watch<\/b><\/span><\/span>:<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Charlie Murata<\/b><\/a> \u2013 RW<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Charlie Murata enters his second season with the Firebirds after recording 18 points across 59 games during his first year in Flint. The young forward has also gained valuable international experience, most recently representing Canada at the 2026 Hlinka Gretzky Cup, where he recorded two assists.<\/span><\/p>\n

He will look to build on his first OHL campaign this season before eventually continuing his career at Michigan State University, where he is committed for the 2028-29 season.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mason Courville<\/b><\/a> \u2013 G<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

2025-26: 18 GP, 3.06 GAA, .893 SV%<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Mason Courville established himself as one of the OHL\u2019s top 2009-born goaltenders during his first full season, appearing in 18 games for the Firebirds. He made history on October 25, 2025, when, at 15 years and 363 days old, he stopped all 19 shots against the Erie Otters to become the youngest OHL goaltender to record a shutout since 2007.<\/span><\/p>\n

Courville carried that strong play onto the international stage this summer, helping the United States capture silver at the 2026 Hlinka Gretzky Cup. He won three games while posting a .921 save percentage during the tournament. Courville is committed to Penn State University for the 2028-29 season.<\/span><\/p>\n

The opportunity is there for players throughout the lineup to take another step, and how quickly those pieces come together could play a major role in determining Flint\u2019s success. Despite the turnover, the Firebirds still have a strong mix of experience and young talent to work with.<\/span><\/p>\n

Erie, Pennsylvania –<\/strong> The Otters prospect pool continues to get deeper and deeper as another pick from this summer’s OHL Priority Selection has signed with the team.<\/p>\n

General Manager\u00a0Dave Brown\u00a0and\u00a0Director of Hockey Operations Scott Grieve\u00a0announced today the Erie’s fourth round pick in the 2026 OHL Priority Selection\u00a0Christian Del Buono has signed an OHL Scholarship and Development Agreement.<\/p>\n

Del Buono spent last season playing at Upper Canada College where he collected 85 points (40G+45A) over the course of 67 games with their U16AAA program.<\/p>\n

The 5’11 forward, a native of Toronto is noted as a plus stickhandler, a player who does the little things well but also flashes plenty of skill.<\/p>\n

Del Buono spoke with excitement about what it means to join the Otters organization and what he will bring to the club each night.<\/p>\n

“I am extremely excited to be signed by the Erie Otters,”\u00a0Del Buono\u00a0said. “I’m very thankful for this opportunity that the Otters organization has given me. I’m ready to get to work, learn from the coaches and teammates and be a positive impact for the team.”<\/p>\n

Grieve spoke on the signing of Del Buono and what the organization is looking for from the young forward.<\/p>\n

“We are very excited to be welcoming Christian and the Del Buono family to the organization,”\u00a0Grieve\u00a0said. “Christian is a hard 200-foot player who can find the back of the net. Erie, Pennsylvania – <\/strong>The Erie Otters continue to solidify their future and their forward depth with the signing of another player selected in the 2026 OHL Priority Selection.<\/p>\n

General Manager\u00a0Dave Brown\u00a0and Director of Hockey Operations\u00a0Scott Grieve\u00a0announced today that forward\u00a0Joshua D’Addario\u00a0has been signed to an OHL Scholarship and Development Agreement.<\/p>\n

The Otters selected D’Addario with the 90th overall pick in the fifth round of the 2026 OHL Priority Selection. In 53 games last season with the Mississauga Reps, D’Addario posted 49 points (25G+24A). The 5’10 native of Woodbridge, ON is noted as a skilled forward who brings it night in and night out.<\/p>\n

D’Addario spoke with excitement about signing with the Otters and discussed what he will bring to the organization.<\/p>\n

“I am extremely excited about signing with the Otters,”\u00a0D’Addario\u00a0said. “It is such a prestigious organization that has produced great players. The fans in Erie truly love and support the Otters, it is such an honor and I can’t wait to get started.”<\/p>\n

Csiernik joins the Attack with a strong background in hockey, athlete sport science, data analytics and academic research, bringing a unique combination of practical hockey experience and evidence-based analysis to the organization. His extensive work in the areas of athlete monitoring and hockey analytics has included collecting and analyzing game-event data, developing statistical models and using data to better understand player and team performance.<\/span><\/p>\n

Csiernik, an alumnus of the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks men\u2019s hockey program, has served as performance consultant, and goaltending coach with his alma mater, while most recently serving as a Sport Science Consultant with the Ridgebacks women\u2019s hockey program.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition to his practical experience, Csiernik has an extensive academic and research background. He completed both his undergraduate and Master’s degrees in kinesiology at Ontario Tech and has pursued doctoral research in the university\u2019s Expertise and Skill Acquisition Lab, with a focus on training load measurement and performance evaluation.<\/span><\/p>\n

Csiernik has also conducted research and written on hockey-specific topics including goaltending, athlete development, performance evaluation and the application of data and analytics within hockey.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Windsor Spitfires enter the 2026-27 season following another deep playoff run and a second consecutive West Division title. Windsor finished last season with a 44-15-6-3 record, good for second place in the Western Conference, before carrying that success into the postseason. The Spitfires swept the Guelph Storm and Flint Firebirds through the opening two rounds before falling to the eventual Memorial Cup champion Kitchener Rangers in the Western Conference Final.<\/span><\/p>\n

This offseason brought significant change throughout the lineup, with key players such as Jack Nesbitt, Ethan Belchetz and AJ Spellacy among those moving on. Most notably, Windsor will have a new look between the pipes following the departure of longtime starter Joey Costanzo, who capped his OHL career with a historic 2025-26 season.<\/span><\/p>\n

Those departures open the door for new opportunities throughout the lineup as the Spitfires look to build around one of the league\u2019s youngest rosters. Windsor will look to its returning players to take on larger roles while a mix of NHL-drafted talent, newcomers from south of the border and younger prospects join the group as the Spitfires aim to remain among the contenders in the Western Conference.<\/span><\/p>\n

Starting Six<\/b><\/span><\/span>:<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

FORWARD | <\/b>Ethan Garden<\/b><\/a>\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

2025-26: 65 GP, 16G, 25A, 41 PTS<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Ethan Garden took a significant step forward during his second season with the Spitfires, nearly tripling his offensive production from the year prior. The forward appeared in 65 games, recording 41 points while establishing himself as a consistent contributor to Windsor\u2019s offence.<\/span><\/p>\n

Garden also represented Michigan District at the 2026 U.S. National Under-17 Team Select Camp, where he added three assists. With two OHL seasons now under his belt and coming off a breakout offensive campaign, Garden will look to build on that production and take on an even bigger role for the Spitfires in 2026-27.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

FORWARD | <\/b>Johnny McLaughlin<\/b><\/a>\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

2025-26: 50 GP, 9G, 7A, 16 PTS<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Johnny McLaughlin showed plenty of growth throughout his rookie season with the Spitfires, particularly during a strong second half. The 2025 first-round pick worked his way into a larger role down the stretch, an impressive step for a 16-year-old who had missed most of his U16 AAA season due to injury.<\/span><\/p>\n

McLaughlin carried that progress into the postseason, earning top-six minutes and recording eight points in 13 playoff games to finish tied for sixth in team scoring. He also represented Canada Red at the 2026 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge, adding two assists.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

FORWARD | <\/b>Beksultan Makysh<\/b><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

2025-26: 68 GP, 14G, 25A, 39 PTS<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Beksultan Makysh put together a solid rookie campaign with the Spitfires, appearing in all 68 regular-season games while recording 14 goals and 25 assists for 39 points. His consistent production helped him establish himself as a regular contributor in Windsor\u2019s lineup throughout his first OHL season.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

DEFENCEMAN | <\/b>Grady Spicer<\/b><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

2025-26 (LaSalle Vipers): 45 GP, 12G, 21A, 33 PTS<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Grady Spicer spent the majority of the 2025-26 season with the LaSalle Vipers of the GOHL, where he recorded 12 goals and 33 points in 45 games from the blue line. He also brought a physical edge to his game, finishing the regular season with 108 penalty minutes.<\/span><\/p>\n

Spicer made his OHL debut with the Spitfires early in the season and appeared in three games with the club. He was also selected to participate in the 2026 GOHL Top Prospects Game as part of the Connor McDavid OHL Top Prospects event.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

DEFENCEMAN | <\/b>Sam Wathier<\/b><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

2025-26 (U.S. National U18 Team): 32 GP, 1G, 2A, 3 PTS<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Sam Wathier joins the Spitfires after playing with the U.S. National Team Development Program last season. The defenceman saw time with both the U17 and U18 teams, as well as the NTDP Juniors in the USHL, before his season was cut short due to injury.<\/span><\/p>\n

Originally selected by Windsor in the fifth round of the 2024 OHL Priority Selection, Wathier signed with the Spitfires this offseason and adds another young and big piece to the club\u2019s blue line.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

GOALTENDER | <\/b>Michael Newlove<\/b><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

2025-26: 23 GP, 2.76 GAA, .886 SV%<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Michael Newlove is presumed to take on a larger role in Windsor\u2019s crease this season after spending 2025-26 behind veteran Joey Costanzo. Newlove appeared in 23 games, posting a 2.76 goals-against average and an .886 save percentage while gaining valuable experience at the OHL level.<\/span><\/p>\n

Originally selected first overall in the 2024 OHL U18 Priority Selection, Newlove has earned his spot within the Spits lineup, and after spending last season alongside one of the league\u2019s top goaltenders, the 19-year-old will look to put that experience to use as he takes over the crease in 2026-27.<\/span><\/p>\n

Breakout Watch<\/b><\/span><\/span>:<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Caden Harvey<\/b><\/a> \u2013 RW<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Caden Harvey made an immediate impact during his first OHL season after joining the Spitfires from Pittsburgh Penguins Elite. Known for his tenacity along the boards and willingness to battle for pucks, Harvey appeared in every regular-season and playoff game for Windsor while recording 11 goals and 34 points.<\/span><\/p>\n

His rookie campaign also helped him hear his name called by the Edmonton Oilers in the 2026 NHL Draft. With a full OHL season under his belt, the Penn State commit will look to take another step offensively and become an even bigger part of Windsor\u2019s forward group before heading to the NCAA for the 2027-28 season.<\/span><\/p>\n

Signed as a free agent in 2025, Brown appeared in 67 games and became increasingly comfortable in his role during the second half, establishing himself as a dependable option in his own end.<\/span><\/p>\n

While his impact may not always show up on the scoresheet, Brown brings confidence defensively and a willingness to stand up for his teammates. As one of the older players on the Spitfires\u2019 roster, the Yale University commit will also have an opportunity to provide a veteran presence on the blue line this season.<\/span><\/p>\n

The multi-faceted agreement positions UCDA as a contributing partner across several of the OHL’s marquee properties, including the OHL Playoffs, the OHL Priority Selection, the Connor McDavid OHL Top Prospects Game and the OHL Futures Camp.<\/p>\n
