The Exeter, Ontario native stands at 6-foot and 180 pounds and played his minor hockey with the Huron Perth Lakers organization.<\/p>\n<p>Following his selection by Windsor, Debruyn joined the Komoka Kings of the Greater Ontario Hockey League (GOHL), where he posted 8 goals and 19 assists for 27 points in 47 games. After the Kings\u2019 season came to an end, Debruyn was called up by the Spitfires and appeared in six games.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt feels great to sign with such a great organization\u201d Debruyn said. \u201cTo accomplish something I have been working really hard for since the draft is super rewarding.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bill Bowler spoke on Debruyn putting pen to paper.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJesse is an all around defenceman that can play in all situations\u201d GM Bill Bowler said. \u201cHe is a player that joined us late in the playoffs and we expect him to continue to grow into a prominent role.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Windsor Spitfires are proud to announce the signing of defenceman Jesse Debruyn (De-bru-un) to the Red, White and Navy. A true power forward, he understands his identity as a player and combines offensive skill with a relentless willingness to compete in hard areas. Dangerous along the walls and below the dots, he has no fear of getting to the difficult parts of the ice to create offense and make an impact\u201d, said Raftis. <\/span><span class=\"s1\">\u201cWe are very excited to welcome Cam to our program and partner with him in the next stage of his development. The 2008-born forward spent the 2025-26 season with Tappara U20 in Finland, recording six goals and 11 assists for 17 points in 29 games. Standing at 6-foot-4 and 198 pounds, Katolicky brings a unique combination of size, skill, and offensive ability to the Sting lineup.<\/p>\n<p>Katolicky arrives in Sarnia as a top NHL Draft prospect available in the 2026 NHL Draft. Ranked 21st among international skaters by NHL Central Scouting, he is set to attend the NHL Scouting Combine next week ahead of the NHL Draft later in june.<\/p>\n<p>Internationally, Katolicky has represented Czechia on multiple occasions, including helping his country capture a bronze medal at the 2026 IIHF U18 Men&#8217;s World Championship. Sting fans may also recognize his name from the 2024 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge, which was hosted in Sarnia, where he showcased the combination of size, skating ability and skill that has made him one of the most intriguing prospects in his draft class.<\/p>\n<p>NHL Draft analyst Scott Wheeler recently highlighted Katolicky among the more interesting prospects available in the 2026 NHL Draft, describing him as &#8220;a big, strong, athletic, good-skating left-shot right winger&#8221; who impressed scouts at the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge in Sarnia. His expanded role comes following the departure of longtime General Manager Dale DeGray, who was named General Manager of the Niagara IceDogs last week.<\/p>\n<p>Nother&#8217;s first major move as General Manager came on Tuesday when the Attack <a href=\"https:\/\/chl.ca\/ohl\/article\/attack-acquire-veteran-goaltender-ryerson-leenders-from-bulldogs\">acquired veteran goaltender Ryerson Leenders<\/a> from the Brantford Bulldogs, signalling the club&#8217;s intention to remain competitive heading into the 2026-27 season.<\/p>\n<p>The Attack are coming off a 2025-26 campaign that saw the club qualify for the OHL Playoffs and continue the development of a young core that includes several key returning players.<\/p>\n<p>Nother was part of the ownership group that purchased the Attack from longtime owners Dr. Bob Severs, Peter MacDermid and Paul MacDermid. During his time with Abbotsford, the team posted a record of 72-61-6-5, which included a franchise-best 44 wins and 92 points in 2024-25, en route to the franchise\u2019s first Calder Cup Championship.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Prior to his time in Abbotsford, Malhotra spent four seasons as an assistant coach with the Toronto Maple Leafs. He also previously worked within the Canucks organization, serving as a Development Coach in 2016-17 before being promoted to Assistant Coach from 2017-20.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A native of Mississauga, Ont., Malhotra played three seasons with the Guelph Storm from 1996-99, helping the club capture an OHL championship in 1998. Ross Robertson Cup as Ontario Hockey League champions, the Rangers capped off their remarkable campaign by winning the Memorial Cup, cementing themselves as the top team in Canadian junior hockey.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Led by a veteran core that embraced the pressure and expectations that came with championship aspirations, Kitchener delivered one of the most dominant postseason runs in recent CHL history. For the members of the Rangers&#8217; graduating class, there could be no better ending, as they conclude their OHL careers having reached the pinnacle of junior hockey and helping bring a Memorial Cup back to Kitchener for the first time since 2003.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Now, the organization prepares to say goodbye to members of their graduating class as Matthew Andonovski, Jack Pridham and Dylan Edwards move on from the OHL.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><b>Matthew Andonovski (Kitchener Rangers \u2013 2021-26)<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Spending his entire junior career with the Kitchener Rangers, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/chl.ca\/ohl\/players\/8465\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Matthew Andonovski<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> returned to the club in January for his overage season after beginning the year with the Belleville Senators of the American Hockey League. He recorded 14 points (1-13\u201314) in 24 regular-season games before adding 10 points (3-7\u201310) during Kitchener\u2019s run to OHL and Memorial Cup championships.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">His leadership qualities were recognized throughout the season, earning him the Ted Baker Teammate of the Year Award.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Originally selected in the fourth round (62nd overall) of the 2021 OHL Priority Selection, Andonovski was later chosen by the Ottawa Senators in the fifth round (140th overall) of the 2023 NHL Draft.
