The two-way defenceman put up four goals and 10 assists for a total of 14 points during the regular season with a plus\/minus of plus-10.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cI\u2019m super excited to join such a great organization like the Owen Sound Attack,\u201d said Cernak. \u201cMy goal is to be an impact player right away and help my teammates in any way I can. I can\u2019t wait to get started and wear the Attack jersey for the first time.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Team President and General Manager, Tyler Nother, believes that Cernak\u2019s dedication to the game and his willingness to be uncompromising in his play to be of value to the Attack.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8220;We would like to welcome Roderik Cernak and his family to the Owen Sound Attack Organization,&#8221; said Nother. \u201cRoderik was identified early on when evaluating what we were looking to add to our group in the CHL Import Draft. Roderik is a hardnosed, right shot defenseman who is willing to do what his team needs to win games, and make it hard on the opposition&#8217;s forwards night in and night out. Fifteen members of the team previously represented the United States at the 2025 Under-17 Four Nations Tournament, where the Americans earned a second-place finish.<\/p>\n<p>Team USA will compete in Group B alongside Czechia, Finland and Germany, while Group A includes Canada, Sweden, Switzerland and Slovakia. The United States will also face Slovakia in a pre-tournament game on Aug. 1st.<\/p>\n<p>The Americans enter the tournament as defending champions after defeating Sweden 5-3 in the 2025 gold medal game. Since joining the club during the 2021-22 season, his enthusiasm and positivity have made him much more than a game-day helper.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Creating a strong culture has always been a priority for the team and Collins has become one of the biggest reasons that culture continues to thrive.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8220;Kyle has been in Barrie since the 2021-22 season, and since day one he has proven to be such an important part of the team,&#8221; said former Head Equipment Manager Morgan Payne. &#8220;He comes in and works hard on any task given. He always comes to the rink in a good mood and can put smiles on everyone&#8217;s faces regardless of whether we win the game or not.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8220;In Barrie, our team culture is a large part of our identity, and it extends so much further than just the players \u2013 it extends to the organization as a whole, and Kyle is an extremely large part of the family,&#8221; Payne said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>One tradition, in particular, perfectly captures what Collins means to the Colts.<\/p>\n<p>His birthday falls during the OHL Playoffs each spring, and for the past two years the team has made sure to celebrate with him. After telling Collins they couldn&#8217;t make it to his birthday party this year, the players surprised him by showing up together, solidifying a memory that has become an annual tradition.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8220;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">My favourite memories of the years in Barrie are how Kyle is able to bring everyone around him together,&#8221; Payne said. &#8220;One example is his birthday. It is always during the playoffs, and he invited the entire team to his birthday party. The players all said they couldn&#8217;t come because they wanted to surprise him, and the whole team showed up for him.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">For Collins, it was a moment he&#8217;ll never forget.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8220;My favourite memory was either winning Game 6 against Brantford on my birthday and putting the puck in the puck case, or when everyone on the team surprised me at my birthday party this year,&#8221; he said.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">We couldn&#39;t miss celebrating a special birthday \ud83e\udd73<\/p>\n<p>Last night, we helped our Equipment Assistant, Kyle Collins, celebrate his 21st birthday! <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/EJQJSkjrUU\">pic.twitter.com\/EJQJSkjrUU<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Barrie Colts (@OHLBarrieColts) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/OHLBarrieColts\/status\/1918680814260273237?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 3, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.x.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Those moments speak to the relationships Collins has built throughout the organization.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8220;It means everything to be a member of the Barrie Colts,&#8221; Collins said. &#8220;Everyone has been so nice to me, and I&#8217;m so excited for another year.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">While many fans have a favourite player, Collins sees things a little differently.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8220;I haven&#8217;t had a favourite player,&#8221; he said. &#8220;I have loved everyone that&#8217;s played on our team since I joined.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">And that appreciation goes both ways.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8220;Kyle has a really special ability to bring everyone around him together,&#8221; Payne said. &#8220;It&#8217;s built our culture in Barrie, and the success on the ice has followed. Kyle will always have a home with the Barrie Colts. Bogdan hails from Chita, Russia. He stands at 6\u20190 and weighs 180lbs.<\/p>\n<p>Yakushevsky spent the 2025-26 season with the CSKA Moskova U17 and U18 Teams as well as Krasnaya Armiya Moskva in the MHL. Over the 3 competitions Bogdan played in 63 games and recorded 78 points (36 goals and 42 assists). He is eligible for the 2027 NHL Entry Draft. Bogdan has also suited up for Team Russia, in 2024-25 he played for both the U16 and U17 teams and appeared in 12 games and collected 14 points (5 goals, 9 assists).<\/p>\n<p>The Russian native is excited to be joining the club.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is an honour for me to join such a great organization with so much history with their NHL alumni.\u201d Bogdan said. \u201cI can really sense the professionalism. He began his major junior career with the Saginaw Spirit before joining the Barrie Colts, where he helped the club capture the Eastern Conference championship in 2010.<\/p>\n<p>Brodie went on to play 962 regular season NHL games with the Calgary Flames, Toronto Maple Leafs and Chicago Blackhawks. A steady, mobile, minute-eating presence on the blue-line, he spent the bulk of his career in Calgary before returning home to Ontario with the Maple Leafs.
