TORONTO – <\/strong>The 2026 OHL Under-18 Priority Selection is set to commence at 7:00pm on Monday, June 8th where no fewer than 40 players born in 2008 and 2009 will be chosen from Under-18 AAA programs from across the province.<\/p>\n

The Under-18 Priority Selection will be held entirely online. Follow along with pick-by-pick results\u00a0here<\/a>\u00a0at ontariohockeyleague.com.<\/p>\n

Just as they will at this coming Friday night’s 2026 OHL Priority Selection in Kingston, the Oshawa Generals hold the first overall pick, followed by the Erie Otters who select second and the Brampton Steelheads who will be picking third. History:<\/strong><\/p>\n

The concept for the OHL Under-18 Priority Selection was developed in 2017 with full support from Hockey Canada\u2019s three Ontario Branches including the Ontario Hockey Federation (OHF), Hockey Eastern Ontario (HEO), and Hockey Northwestern Ontario (HNO), to assist in the growth of\u00a0U18 AAA hockey and provide further opportunities for players at different stages of their hockey development.<\/p>\n

Recent Selections to Play in the OHL:<\/strong><\/p>\n

A number of former U18 selections spent the 2025-26 season in the OHL including Peterborough Petes teammates Brennan Faulkner and Brett Hammond, Sudbury Wolves forward Rowan Henderson, Kingston Frontenacs forward Riley Clark, Erie Otters netminder Noah Tegelaar, Brampton Steelheads forward Julian Demiglio, Barrie Colts forward Luc Gauvreau, Windsor Spitfires goaltender Michael Newlove, North Bay Battalion blueliner Jonathan Kapageridis, Flint Firebirds forward Josh Bonnyman as well as Kitchener Rangers forward Jack LaBrash.<\/p>\n

Players Eligible for Selection:<\/strong><\/p>\n

All U18 players not currently on a CHL Member Team Protected List who were carded with an Ontario-based U18 AAA Hockey Club or an accredited Hockey Canada sport school within the OHF, HNO or HEO in the 2025-26 playing season are eligible for the U18 Priority Selection.<\/p>\n

Selection Procedure:<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Under-18 Priority Selection Process is two rounds with each OHL Member Team required to select two players. A number of draft-eligible OHL players excelled in physical testing at the 2026 NHL Scouting Combine in Buffalo, N.Y., this past week.<\/span><\/p>\n

The OHL produced four first-place finishes, with Pierce Mbuyi (Owen Sound Attack), Cole Zurawski (Owen Sound Attack), Layne Gallacher (Guelph Storm) and Beckham Edwards (Sarnia Sting). Other standout OHL performers included Thomas Vandenberg (Ottawa 67’s), Wesley Royston (Owen Sound Attack), Caleb Malhotra (Brantford Bulldogs), Adam Novotny (Peterborough Petes), Ryder Cali (North Bay Battalion), Ethan Belchetz (Windsor Spitfires) and Maksim Sokolovskii (London Knights), all of whom recorded top results across multiple events.<\/span><\/p>\n

A total of 20 OHL players attended the annual event, which featured 90 prospects. The NHL Scouting Combine provides the league’s 32 clubs with physical and medical evaluations of top draft prospects ahead of the 2026 NHL Draft, set for June 26-27 at KeyBank Center in Buffalo.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Brantford Bulldogs have acquired forward Camden McCuaig and a sixth-round pick in the 2026 OHL Priority Selection from the Kingston Frontenacs in exchange for forward Ryan Chamberlain, along with a third-round and sixth-round pick in the 2027 OHL Priority Selection.<\/p>\n

McCuaig, a Williamstown, Ontario native, was originally selected by Kingston in the fifth round, 87th overall, of the 2024 OHL Priority Selection. The 6-foot-4 centre split the 2025-26 season between the Frontenacs and the Cornwall Colts of the CCHL, producing 18 goals and 24 assists for 42 points in 40 games with Cornwall while also recording six points (3-3-6) in 17 OHL games.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe’re thrilled to add Camden McCuaig to the Bulldogs,\u201d said Brantford General Manager Spencer Hyman. \u201cCamden is a big, powerful centre who impacts the game in all three zones. He plays a hard, heavy style and brings an element to our lineup that we felt we needed.\u201d<\/p>\n

The move gives Brantford another young forward with size and offensive upside as the club continues to reshape its roster heading into the 2026-27 season.<\/p>\n

Heading to Kingston is Chamberlain, a Peterborough native who was originally selected by the Sarnia Sting in the fifth round of the 2024 OHL Priority Selection. The 6-foot-2 forward spent most of the 2025-26 campaign with the Brantford Titans of the GOJHL, recording 19 points in 27 games, while also appearing in 17 games with the Bulldogs.<\/p>\n

\u201cRyan is a very strong skater with good instincts on both sides of the puck,\u201d said Frontenacs General Manager Kory Cooper. \u201cHe has good size and can play down the middle or on the wing, adding flexibility for our forward group.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kingston also adds a pair of future draft selections, including a third-round pick in 2027, as the club continues to build its draft capital ahead of future OHL Priority Selections.<\/p>\n

The Sarnia Sting Hockey Club has announced that forward Braydon Sisco has signed a Standard Player Agreement (SPA) with the organization.<\/p>\n

Sisco, a 2009-born right-shot forward from Kinnelon, New Jersey, joins the Sting after an impressive season with the North Jersey Avalanche 16U AAA program. In 26 games during the 2025-26 season, the 5-foot-9, 161-pound forward recorded 23 goals and 31 assists for 54 points.<\/p>\n

The Sarnia Sting Hockey Club has announced that forward Myles Dunn has signed a Standard Player Agreement with the organization.<\/p>\n

“I am truly honoured to sign with such a great organization,” said Dunn. “Through my small amount of time with the team last year, I was able to learn a lot and gather the knowledge I needed to get to the next level. Looking forward to getting things going and can’t wait to get started in Sarnia.”<\/p>\n

Dunn was selected by the Sting in the eighth round, 157th overall, in the 2025 OHL Priority Selection. The 2009-born forward from London, Ontario, shoots right, stands 5-foot-10, and weighs 176 pounds.<\/p>\n

The London native put together an impressive 2025-26 season with the St. Thomas Stars of the GOHL, recording 25 goals and 32 assists for 57 points in 47 games. His strong play earned him a call-up to the Sting, where he appeared in three games and registered an assist in his OHL debut against the Kitchener Rangers.<\/p>\n

Dunn’s performance throughout the season also earned league-wide recognition. In late January, he was named OHL Prospect of the Week after scoring five goals and adding two assists for seven points in just two games with the St. Thomas Stars. Earlier that month, he represented the St. Thomas Stars at the 2026 GOHL Top Prospects Game.<\/p>\n

BRANTFORD, ONTARIO. <\/strong>Brantford Bulldogs General Manager Spencer Hyman today announced the naming of Michael Babcock as the 6th<\/sup> head coach in franchise history making Babcock the youngest to lead the Bulldogs bench.<\/p>\n

Babcock, 31, has called Saskatoon home but been a journey through the hockey world. Growing up in Michigan, Babcock played for both the Litte Ceasars AAA program and legendary Detroit Catholic Central high school before a stint with the USNTDP led to two seasons in the USHL culminating in a season as captain of the Fargo Force in the 2014-15 season. After graduating from the junior level, Babcock spent 4 years at Merrimack College where he earned his business degree while playing four seasons and again serving as captain and named to the Hockey East All-Academic team in 2015-16. Babcock moved to Europe for a season playing for Amiens in France\u2019s Ligue Magnus winning the French Cup in the 2019-20 season before turning his attention to coaching.<\/p>\n

Reciving his first call to the bench in 2021-22, Babcock spent two seasons with the University of Saskatchewan as assistant coach while earning his MBA in the process. In 2023, Babcock joined the Ottawa Senators briefly in an assistant\/development coach role before moving to the St. Louis Blues for a pair of seasons as the team\u2019s skills coach, including working with former AHL Bulldogs head coach Claude Julien. For the 2025-26 season, Babcock moved to San Diego where he served as assistant coach with the AHL\u2019s San Diego Gulls.<\/p>\n

Babcock is the son of legendary coach of Triple Gold Club member and Stanley Cup Champion Mike Babcock, who captured hockey\u2019s ultimate prize in 2008 with the Detroit Red Wings, along with Olympic Gold Medals in 2010 & 2014.<\/p>\n

Oshawa, ON. – <\/strong>The Oshawa Generals have signed forward Cole Mazzoni to an OHL Scholarship and Development Agreement.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mazzoni was a 9th-<\/sup>round pick (177th overall) of the Generals in the 2025 OHL Priority Selection Draft before spending the majority of last season with the Oakland Jr. Grizzlies 16U AAA, where he collected 79 points (46-33\u201379)<\/span> in 61 games.<\/p>\n

The six-foot-two forward from Livonia, Michigan, also spent time with the US National Development team, suiting up three times in the USHL.<\/p>\n
