The 19-year-old from Uppsala, Sweden recorded 24 goals and 22 assists for 46 points in 59 games during the 2025-26 campaign and has totalled 91 points (46-45-91) in 112 career OHL games. He also starred for Sweden at the 2025 IIHF U18 World Championship, leading the tournament with 10 goals while recording 18 points in seven games.<\/p>\n<p>Funck earns the call after a strong first season with the defending Memorial Cup champion London Knights. Selected by London in the first round (58th overall) of the 2025 CHL Import Draft, the 6-foot-3 defenceman recorded four goals and 18 assists for 22 points in 65 regular season games before adding a goal in three playoff appearances. Kory Cooper have announced the signing of Roman Vanacker to an OHL Scholarship and Development Agreement.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;color: #000000\">The Frontenacs used the 23<sup>rd<\/sup> overall pick in the second round to select Roman in the 2026 OHL Priority Selection. Vanacker spent the 2025-26 season with the Brantford 99ers U16 AAA program, playing in 30 games and collecting 30 goals and 40 assists for 70 points. The 5&#8217;9&#8221;, 177 lbs. forward from Delhi, ON would go on to add an additional 2 goals and 4 assists at the 2026 OHL Cup.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><b><i data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">&#8220;Roman is a versatile player that can slot in anywhere in our forward group,&#8221; <\/i>said Frontenacs General Manager Kory Cooper.<\/b>\u00a0<b><i>&#8220;He has a relentless compete level and is a high-character teammate who puts the team first. Offensively, he\u2019s an equally strong playmaker and goal scorer, but his overall 200-foot game has very good details for a young player. Roman possesses all the qualities that we look for in a player and we&#8217;re happy to welcome him and his family to the organization.\u201d<\/i><\/b><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Vanacker joins Logan Prud&#8217;homme as the second member of the 2026 Frontenacs draft class to sign his OHL Scholarship and Development Agreement. A two-time OHL and Memorial Cup champion, Roberts also enjoyed a distinguished 21-season NHL career that included a Stanley Cup championship with the Calgary Flames in 1989.<\/p>\n<p>Burke officially joins the Bulldogs as Senior Hockey Operations Advisor. The 2026 Hockey Hall of Fame inductee brings decades of NHL executive experience, highlighted by a Stanley Cup championship with the Anaheim Ducks in 2007 while serving as Executive Vice President and General Manager.<\/p>\n<p>The Bulldogs also announced the promotions of Mike Galati to Assistant General Manager while remaining Director of Scouting, and J.J. Barrett to Manager of Hockey Operations and Player Services. Adrian Vilaca remains Director of Player Development, while Luke Van Moerkerke continues as the club&#8217;s Strength and Conditioning Coach.<\/p>\n<p>The organizational changes follow the departures of assistant coaches Ryan Kuwabara and Owen Burnell.<\/p>\n<p>Kuwabara spent the past two seasons behind the Bulldogs bench, helping guide the club to consecutive East Division championships while compiling a regular season record of 92-29-13-2 and a 17-9 playoff record.<\/p>\n<p>Burnell departs after a decade with the organization in several roles. Originally a Bulldogs player from 2016 to 2019, he returned as Video Coach in 2023 before serving as Assistant Coach over the past season. Read more on OHL players attending NHL Development Camps here.<\/p>\n<p>Originally earning a roster spot with the London Knights as a free agent invite out of training camp in 2023, the Atlanta, Ga. native developed into one of the OHL&#8217;s premier physical forwards. Boulton helped the Knights capture back-to-back OHL championships in 2024 and 2025 before adding a Memorial Cup title in 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Acquired by the Brantford Bulldogs ahead of the 2025-26 season, Boulton brought championship experience and a physical presence to the Bulldogs lineup, appearing in 48 regular season games while recording four goals, four assists and 79 penalty minutes. He added two points in 15 playoff contests as Brantford reached the second round.<\/p>\n<p>Boulton completed his OHL career with 136 regular season games between London and Brantford, recording eight goals, 13 assists and 220 penalty minutes while appearing in 41 career playoff games.
