Team USA enters the tournament as the defending champion after capturing gold in 2025.<\/p>\n<p>The OHL contingent includes Flint Firebirds goaltender Mason Courville, Peterborough Petes forward Gerry DiCunzolo, Saginaw Spirit forward Sawyer Schmidt and Kingston Frontenacs forward Nolan Snyder, along with incoming Windsor Spitfires forward Ty Bergeron.<\/p>\n<p>Although USA Hockey lists Bergeron with the Muskegon Lumberjacks, the 17-year-old signed with the Spitfires earlier this summer after recording 29 points (15-14-29) in 53 USHL games during the 2025-26 season.<\/p>\n<p>Courville appeared in 20 games with the Firebirds as a rookie in 2025-26, posting a 3.26 goals-against average and .901 save percentage.<\/p>\n<p>DiCunzolo enjoyed a productive first OHL season with the Petes, recording 23 goals and 20 assists for 43 points in 67 games.<\/p>\n<p>Schmidt produced 16 goals and 16 assists for 32 points in 64 games with the Saginaw Spirit during his rookie campaign, while Snyder registered 15 goals and 15 assists for 30 points in 65 games with the Kingston Frontenacs.<\/p>\n<p>The United States will announce its final roster following selection camp before travelling to Edmonton, where it will face Canada, Czechia, Finland, Germany, Slovakia, Sweden and Switzerland at the 2026 Hlinka Gretzky Cup.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Five present A dual Canadian-American citizen from Casselman, Ontario, and Des Moines, Iowa, Wathier stands 6\u20194\u201d and weighs 207 pounds.<\/p>\n<p>Wathier played his minor hockey in Canada with the Eastern Ontario Wild of Hockey Eastern Ontario (HEO). During his 2023\u201324 draft season, he recorded 3 goals and 11 assists for 14 points in 30 games.<\/p>\n<p>Following his selection by Windsor, Wathier joined the United States National Team Development Program (NTDP). He appeared in 90 games across both the NTDP and the USHL\u2019s NTDP Juniors program, recording 13 assists. Internationally, Wathier represented Team USA at the 2024-25 U17 World Hockey Challenge, appearing in five games.<\/p>\n<p>In 2025-26, Wathier continued his development with the NTDP, playing for both the U17 and U18 teams, as well as the USHL\u2019s NTDP Juniors squad. He played 42 games and recorded 3 points before his season was cut short by injury.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt feels great to be a Spitfire\u201d Wathier said. \u201cIt is an honour to represent this historic franchise, and I am excited for the opportunity. We have a special team, and I truly believe that we have the opportunity to accomplish something special together.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1315\" data-end=\"1608\">Selected by the Frontenacs in the fourth round (74th overall) of the 2022 OHL Priority Selection, Williamson has appeared in 197 career regular season games, recording 11 goals, 43 assists and 54 points. He was named the 48th captain in franchise history following the 2026 OHL trade deadline.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1610\" data-end=\"1825\">The Ajax, Ont. native played a career-high 67 games in 2025-26, producing six goals and 19 assists for 25 points while helping Kingston finish with a 46-15-4-3 record, the second-best mark in the Eastern Conference.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1827\" data-end=\"2017\">Williamson&#8217;s return provides Kingston with an experienced presence on the blue line as the Frontenacs look to build on their second consecutive East Division title during the The 2026 third-round Ottawa Senators draft pick also represented Slovakia at the 2026 IIHF World Junior Championship, recording five points in five games.<\/p>\n<p>Chovan also earns a spot after an impressive first OHL season in Sudbury. Selected by the Los Angeles Kings in the sixth round of the 2025 NHL Draft, the 6-foot-3 forward recorded 55 points (28-27-55) in 60 games with the Wolves while adding two goals in four playoff contests. He represented Slovakia at both the 2025 and 2026 World Junior Championships.<\/p>\n<p>Svrcek, who signed with the Windsor Spitfires in June after being selected in the 2025 CHL Import Draft, joins the camp following a season that included time in Sweden&#8217;s SHL with Bryn\u00e4s IF. A Detroit Red Wings prospect, he also suited up for Slovakia at the 2026 World Junior Championship.<\/p>\n<p>Bern\u00e1t, who recently signed with the Owen Sound Attack after being selected in the 2025 CHL Import Draft, rounds out the OHL contingent. The 6-foot-4 winger recorded 31 points (15-16-31) with Tappara&#8217;s U20 club in Finland last season while representing Slovakia at the 2026 IIHF Under-18 World Championship.<\/p>\n<p>Slovakia opens camp on July 20 before playing a pair of exhibition games against its Under-18 National Team. The Sting selected Tkach-Tkachenko with the 10th overall pick in the first round of the 2026 CHL Import Draft.<\/p>\n<p>The 6-foot-3, 185-pound left-catching goaltender from Chernolesovsky, Russia, spent the 2025-26 season with Ufa Tolpar of the MHL, posting a 2.80 goals-against average and .894 save percentage in 27 games. Tkach-Tkachenko was also selected by the Utah Mammoth in the fifth round (142nd overall) of the 2025 NHL Draft.<\/p>\n<p>The signing adds another highly regarded prospect to the Sting roster as the organization continues to build toward the 2026-27 campaign. The 6-foot, 181-pound netminder was the first goaltender taken in the draft after an impressive season with Keikko-Espoo in the U20 SM-Sarja league, where he posted a 2.34 goals-against average and a .910 save percentage in 29 appearances. Ahmaj\u00e4rvi has also represented Finland on the international stage on multiple occasions at the U16, U17 and U18 levels.<\/p>\n<p>Director of Goaltending, David Shantz, had this to say about Oskari, \u201cOskari is a highly competitive, athletic goaltender with a strong track record of results.
