The Brampton Steelheads announced today the signing of free agents Ben (left) and Peyton (right) Collins to OHL Scholarship and Development Agreements.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Peyton, a native of Nashville, Tennessee, stands at 6-foot-0 and 157 pounds. The forward starred with the Nashville Jr. Predators U16 AAA during the 2025-26 season, recording 22 goals and 52 assists for 74 points in 56 regular season games. A dynamic player with a polished, well-rounded skill set, Peyton has established himself as a reliable offensive threat and playmaker.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Ben, also a Nashville native, stands at 6-foot-0 and 165 pounds. The centreman is known for his natural chemistry with his linemates and ability to efficiently distribute the puck. During the 2025-26 campaign, Ben recorded 23 goals and 35 assists for 58 points in 49 regular season games, showcasing his strong two-way game and offensive instincts.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Head Coach and General Manager James Richmond commented after the twins&#8217; signing. \u201cWe are pleased to announce the signing of the Collins Twins! I&#8217;m looking forward to working hard every day and doing everything I can to help the team achieve its goals. I really appreciate this opportunity from Mr. Oke and the rest of the Petes staff.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Nelson, a native of Hudson, Wisconsin, appeared in 26 games with the Tri-City Storm of the USHL last season, posting a 2.92 goals-against average (GAA) and a .909 save percentage (SV%). He also saw action in one playoff game, recording a 1.61 GAA and a .955 SV%. During the 2024\u201325 season, Nelson also played high school hockey for Cretin-Derham Hall in Minnesota, where he earned 20 wins while posting a 1.71 GAA and a .926 SV%. He recently attended the Peterborough Petes&#8217; Development Camp as a free-agent invitee.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cWe\u2019re very excited to welcome Owen to the Peterborough Petes,\u201d said Oke. \u201cOwen is a big, athletic goaltender who moves well and is coming off a solid season with Tri-City in the USHL. The right-shot defenceman joins the organization after spending last season with the Waterloo Siskins of the GOHL, establishing himself as a promising young player with the tools, compete level, and commitment needed to continue developing at the next level.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLogan had a great year of development in Junior B and was exceptional at our spring camp,\u201d said Kitchener Rangers General Manager, Mike McKenzie. \u201cHe has taken big strides since we drafted him. He plays a very well-rounded game, and we see a bright future for him in our program.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Massimi, 17, born on January 5th, 2009, is listed at six-foot, 182 pounds. In 49 games with the Waterloo Siskins, Massimi recorded two goals and 16 assists, while racking up 47 penalty minutes. Massimi was called up for the Kitchener Rangers final game of the regular season last year against the Owen Sound Attack. He had a +3 plus\/minus rating in the game.<\/p>\n<p>Massimi shared his thoughts on what it meant to him signing his Standard Player Agreement with the Kitchener Rangers:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Signing with Kitchener means the world to me. Getting drafted by the team and having them believe in me was an incredible feeling, and now being able to sign with the organization makes it even more special. It\u2019s hard to put into words how grateful i am for this opportunity.<\/p>\n<p>My past season in GOHL with Waterloo was huge for my development. The staff were amazing and put a lot of trust in me allowing my game to make huge strides. Even just being around the Kitchener-Waterloo community and becoming familiar with the area was amazing seeing all the support that these fans give.<\/p>\n<p>Having the opportunity to be a part of such a great organization like Kitchener is huge, especially coming off of a year like they just had with a Memorial Cup title. In his new role with Nashville, he will support the development of goaltenders across the Predators organization and will serve as the goalie coach for the Milwaukee Admirals (AHL) and Atlanta Gladiators (ECHL).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJordan played a key role in our hockey operations as both Director of Goaltending and Video Coach,\u201d said Kitchener Rangers General Manager Mike McKenzie. \u201cHe will be sorely missed on both fronts and as well as just his overall presence around the rinks. We are very excited for him to earn this opportunity and wish him the best of luck in Nashville and Milwaukee.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A former OHL goaltender, DeKort played four seasons in the league from 2011 to 2015, including the 2013-14 season with the Kitchener Rangers. He returned to the organization in 2021 as Goaltending Coach before being promoted in 2023 to Director of Goaltending and Video Coach, where he oversaw goaltending development, scouting, prospect development, and team video operations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would like to thank Mike McKenzie for allowing me the opportunity to come back to Kitchener. I would also like to thank our entire staff, hockey ops, business staff and players for making my experience in Kitchener first class,\u201d said DeKort. \u201cBeing able to help bring a memorial cup back to Kitchener has been one of the highlights of my life, and being able to bring it to the most deserving fans in the CHL made it even better. I am extremely grateful for my time in Kitchener and the all the people who have helped support me over the last 5 years. We\u2019re excited to continue the process of building a team and working with a group of players who will proudly represent Canada and showcase their talent to hockey fans in Edmonton in August.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Oulahen just completed his seventh season as head coach of the North Bay Battalion of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) and second season as assistant general manager. Prior to joining North Bay, he spent three seasons as head coach of the OHL\u2019s Flint Firebirds and six seasons as an assistant coach with the Battalion (2010-16). Oulahen has previously served as an assistant coach with Canada\u2019s National Men\u2019s Summer Under-18 Team, winning a gold medal in 2024 and 2018. It will also face Slovakia on Aug. 4 and Sweden on Aug. 5 to close out the preliminary round before the tournament concludes with the medal games on Aug. 8. Canada\u2019s National Men\u2019s Summer Under-18 Team will hold a training camp prior to the start of the tournament, set for <a href=\"https:\/\/hockeycanada.ca\/en-ca\/team-canada\/men\/under-18\/2026-27\/selection-camp\/practice-schedule\">July 27-30<\/a> at NAIT Arena in Edmonton, which will include practices and a game against Sweden on July 30. The 6\u20190, 190 pound defencemen played a complete game recording 47 points in 28 games last season. He also showed his compete in the team\u2019s playoffs with another 19 points from the blueline in only 8 games. In addition to his strong play, Ryan captained his club to a<br \/>\nU16 Alliance Championship and was named to the OHL Cup All Star Team with 11 points in 6 games.<\/p>\n<p>Ryan is a second generation London Knight. His Father, Josh Beaulieu played for the Knights from 2003-07 winning a Memorial Cup in 2005.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWe are very happy to have Ryan in our organization. He spent this past season with the Madison Capitals of the USHL, where he finished with 27 points (9G-19A) in 57 games.
