A late 2007-born forward, Ryan Brown was originally selected in the first round of the 2023 OHL Priority Selection before finding his stride with the London Knights following a mid-season trade. Brown recorded 40 points (16-24\u201340) in 33 regular-season games with London.<\/span><\/p>\n

Jasper Kuhta<\/b><\/a> (C) \u2013 Ottawa 67\u2019s (2025-26)<\/b><\/p>\n

The Finnish forward joined the Ottawa 67’s through the CHL Import Draft and quickly emerged as one of the OHL’s top offensive players in his age group. Kuhta led the 67’s with 63 points (32-31\u201363) in 62 regular-season games and also represented Finland at the 2026 IIHF World Junior Championship.<\/span><\/p>\n

Charlie Paquette concluded his OHL career after five seasons split between the Guelph Storm and Brantford Bulldogs. Serving as Guelph’s captain to begin the 2025-26 season, Paquette recorded 36 points (17-19\u201336) in 36 games before being traded to Brantford on Jan. 4. He added 27 points (12-15\u201327) in 29 regular-season games with the Bulldogs before contributing 11 points (3-8\u201311) in 15 playoff contests. The 6-foot-2 winger recently signed an AHL contract with the Texas Stars.<\/span><\/p>\n

The 6-foot-2 defenceman recorded a career-high 22 points (4-18\u201322) and 99 penalty minutes in 46 regular-season games before adding two assists in 18 appearances with Texas.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

NIAGARA, ONT.<\/strong> \u2013 The Niagara IceDogs have announced the hiring of Rosa Mandatori, CAT(c), as the club’s new Head Athletic Therapist.<\/p>\n

Mandatori joins the IceDogs after spending the past two seasons with the Canadian Football League’s Toronto Argonauts, where she served as an Assistant Athletic Therapist. During her time with the organization, she was a member of the Argonauts’ medical staff that captured the 111th Grey Cup championship.<\/p>\n

A 2023 graduate of York University’s Athletic Therapy program, Mandatori also earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. While completing her studies, she gained valuable hands-on experience working with the York University Lions women’s hockey team and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.<\/p>\n

Mandatori also brings an extensive hockey background to Niagara, having worked with programs at both the university and junior levels, including the Toronto Aeros of the Ontario Women’s Hockey Association, the King Rebellion of the Ontario Junior Hockey League and the Caledon Admirals of the OJHL.<\/p>\n

In addition to her work in sport, Mandatori currently serves as the Athletic Therapy Lead at ALPHA Health Services in Toronto.<\/p>\n

“After speaking with members of the team, I’m excited to get started here in Dog Country,” said Mandatori.<\/p>\n

The Barrie Colts are proud to announce that forward Maxim Shirochenkov has signed an Ontario Hockey League Scholarship and Development Agreement with the club. Shirochenkov joins the Colts after being selected by Barrie in the third round (171st overall) of the 2026 CHL Import Draft.<\/p>\n

A native of Moscow, Russia, the six-foot, 165-pound left winger spent this past season with Dynamo Moscow’s U17 squad, posting 15 goals and 20 assists for 35 points in 33 games.<\/p>\n

General Manager Marty Williamson<\/strong><\/em> said the pick reflects the club’s focus on building around young talent as it works through a rebuild following its run to the 2026 OHL championship series “Maxim fits our development path and I am looking forward to seeing how he develops,” Williamson said.<\/span><\/p>\n

Shirochenkov is expected to join the Colts at training camp when it opens in late August.<\/p>\n

BRANTFORD, ONTARIO. <\/strong>Brantford Bulldogs President of Hockey Operations & General Manager Spencer Hyman today announced the signing of the team\u2019s 62nd<\/sup> overall selection in the 2026 CHL Import Draft Vilmer Sal\u00e9n Forsberg to an OHL Scholarship & Development Agreement.<\/p>\n

Sal\u00e9n Forsberg, of S\u00f6dert\u00e4lje, Sweden, strikes an imposing presence between the pipes, standing 6\u20196\u201d\/235 and becomes the Bulldogs first ever Swedish international and first ever import goaltender. The product of his hometown S\u00f6dert\u00e4lje SK program, Sal\u00e9n Forsberg has played at the J18 level since his 14-year old season, when he debuted with a 4 game stint posting a 2.64 GAA as a triple underage player in the J18 Region competition, stepping to the J18 Nationell level with a 3.70 GAA over 5 games there.<\/p>\n

Following up his debut, Sal\u00e9n Forsberg\u2019s 2024-25 season was outstanding, again playing well above his age in his 15-year old season, the towering netminder known as \u201cThe Viking\u201d posted a J18 Regional East, best 1.55 GAA along with a .920 save percentage, going 8-1 in his 9 games at that level, Sal\u00e9n Forsberg followed his effort up at the Nationell level with a 2.84\/.892 line in 7 games, posting a 4-2 record and earning his first call up to the J20 level for S\u00f6dert\u00e4lje, appearing in 5 games with a 2.48\/.890 stat line. In the playoffs for the J18 squad Sal\u00e9n Forsberg continued his high end play, posting a 2.60\/.903 line with a 4-2 record over 6 post-season appearances.<\/p>\n

Sal\u00e9n Forsberg earned his first call to international competition in the 2024-25 season as well, dawning the Tre Kronor for 4 games compiling a 2.51\/.921 line for his country at the U16 level.<\/p>\n

The 2025-26 season began for Sal\u00e9n Forsberg at the U18 level for S\u00f6dert\u00e4lje, still competing as an underager, posting a brilliant 2.28\/.920 line with a 7-4 record in 11 appearances, the Nationell U18 was tougher on S\u00f6dert\u00e4lje but Sal\u00e9n Forsberg kept them in the fight in 18 appearances with an .898 save percentage over 18 appearances, earning another callup to the U20 level as a 16-year old with a 2.34\/.939 in his appearance. Sal\u00e9n Forsberg worked his way to the U17 international level, taking the crease for a pair of games at the U17 World Hockey Challenge and posting a 3.34\/.900 line in 7 games overall for the Tre Kronor.<\/p>\n

Sal\u00e9n Forsberg will now join fellow Bulldogs signee Adam N\u011bmec playing at the 2026 Hlinka-Gretzky tournament.<\/p>\n

Following his selection by the Soo Greyhounds in the 2025 CHL Import Draft, Doman Szongoth remained with KooKoo, recording 28 points (10-18\u201328) in 44 U20 SM-sarja games. The Budapest, Hungary, native also represented his country at the 2026 IIHF World Championship, recording one goal in seven games. Selected by the Buffalo Sabres in the fifth round (156th overall) of the 2026 NHL Draft, Szongoth became just the fifth Hungarian-born player ever chosen in the NHL Draft. He is expected to make his OHL debut with the Greyhounds in 2026-27.<\/span><\/p>\n

Originally selected 36th overall by the Oshawa Generals in the 2022 OHL Priority Selection, David Bedkowski completed his fourth OHL season after being acquired by the Ottawa 67’s at the January trade deadline. The former Owen Sound captain established career highs with 29 points (5-24\u201329) in 68 regular-season games split between the Attack and 67’s during the 2025-26 season.<\/span><\/p>\n

Kitchener, Ont. \u2014<\/strong> The Kitchener Rangers announced today that Jeff Kyrzakos has been named the 26th Head Coach in franchise history.<\/p>\n

Kyrzakos steps into the role after serving as the Rangers\u2019 Associate Coach and Assistant General Manager over the past three seasons. Since joining Kitchener in 2023, he has played an important role in the club\u2019s player development, game preparation, and day-to-day hockey operations while having a focus on the forward group and power play. Kyrzakos played a pivotal role in guiding the Kitchener Rangers to their fifth OHL Championship and third Memorial Cup Championship in franchise history, winning both for the first time in his coaching career.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are excited for Jeff to become the 26th Head Coach in Ranger History,\u201d said Kitchener Rangers General Manager, Mike McKenzie. \u201cHe has been an integral part of our staff for the last three years and has a wealth of experience in the OHL. We feel he is the right person to lead our hockey club moving forward. I look forward to working with Jeff and seeing him take this step in his coaching career.\u201d<\/p>\n

Prior to arriving in Kitchener, Kyrzakos spent seven seasons with the Mississauga Steelheads as Assistant General Manager and Assistant Coach, helping guide the organization through a strong period of player advancement and team success. He was behind the bench when Mississauga captured both the Central Division and Eastern Conference titles during the 2016-17 season, and he contributed to the development of numerous players selected in the NHL Draft.<\/p>\n

“On behalf of the Kitchener Rangers Hockey Club, I want to congratulate Jeff Kyrzakos on his well-earned promotion to Head Coach,” said Chief Operating Officer and Governor, Joe Birch. “Jeff is an outstanding person whose character, integrity, and professionalism have earned the respect of everyone in our organization. He is a tremendous communicator who builds strong relationships with his players and staff, and his experience and leadership have made a significant impact on our hockey club. Throughout his time with the Rangers, Jeff has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to player development and creating an environment where our athletes can succeed both on and off the ice. He has the trust and respect of our players, and we are confident he is the right leader to guide our team into the future. We are excited for Jeff as he takes on this opportunity and look forward to supporting him as he begins this next chapter with the Kitchener Rangers.”<\/p>\n

A Mississauga, Ontario native, Kyrzakos brings experience as a player and coach. He played at Western Michigan University before joining the Owen Sound Attack, where he recorded 79 points in 64 games during the 2005-06 OHL season. He later played seven seasons of professional hockey before beginning his coaching career with the Arizona Sundogs in 2013.<\/p>\n

Having been here for three seasons – my appreciation for the organization, the history and our fans has grown. The people who work here are some of the best. Thanks to Joe Birch, Mike McKenzie and Jussi Ahokas for bringing me in here three years ago, and for the opportunity that lies ahead. I want to wish both Jussi Ahokas and Jordan Dekort the best of luck. We will miss them as coaches but more importantly as people. Lastly, I look forward to continuing to work with Brad Flynn and Brandon Merli who have each played integral roles in building the great foundation of this organization over our years here in Kitchener. I am very appreciative of the work they put in every day to make this team the best it can be.\u201d<\/p>\n
