DeGrazia paces Wolves to big weekend on the road
Nick DeGrazia had a big weekend scoring a goal and an assist against the Steelheads on Friday, in addition to a pair of goals and an assist on Saturday against Niagara before 2022 NHL Draft prospect Evan Konyen scored 1:39 into overtime. DeGrazia hit the 20-goal mark over the weekend while rookie forward David Goyette extended his point streak to 12 games as the Wolves took five of a possible six points on the road.

Rangers go 3-0
The Kitchener Rangers had a big 3-0 week defeating Saginaw, Erie, and Guelph to move into a tie for seventh place with Sarnia. Joseph Serpa, Mitchell Martin and Francesco Pinelli each recorded six points in three wins. Rookie forward Andrew LeBlanc enjoyed a big weekend with back-to-back two-point performances. First-year netminder Jackson Parsons made 31 saves for his first win since Feb. 1st on Sunday.

Johnston reaches 100 points
Wyatt Johnston became the first OHL player to reach 100 points this season as he recorded a hat trick on Saturday. Johnston is the first Spitfire to reach 100 since defenceman Ryan Ellis in the 2010-11 season. Johnston recorded six points in four games last week as Windsor won their last three, climbing to within one point of first place in the Western Conference.

Battalion blitz to seventh straight win
North Bay’s run of consecutive wins swelled to seven on Sunday as the Troops won their 11th in a row at home. The Battalion feature four different players with at least 30 goals in Brandon Coe, Mitchell Russell, Matvey Petrov and Kyle McDonald. North Bay has won 16 of their last 18 games and lead the Central Division with a 35-17-3-3 record, two points up on Mississauga. The Troops now own the OHL’s top power play, one operating at 27.1 percent.

Bulldogs first to 40 wins
Arber Xhekaj, Jan Mysak and Ryan Humphrey scored goals as the Bulldogs earned their 40th win of the season on Sunday, closing out a perfect weekend on the road. Logan Morrison collected an assist to extend his point streak to 15 games as the Bulldogs improve to 40-12-2-2 at the top of the OHL standings. Marco Costantini earned OHL Goaltender of the Week honours and has won 16 of his last 17 starts.

Owen Sound extends point streak to 12 games
The Attack remain one of the League’s hottest teams, extending their point streak to 12 games as Deni Goure had three assists in a 5-1 victory over Erie on Sunday. Colby Barlow also had a goal and an assist, scoring in five straight games. The Attack climb to within two points of fifth place Guelph in the Western Conference, improving to 28-23-4-3.

Hounds take two in Michigan
Kalvyn Watson logged a career-high five points in a barn burner on Friday as the Greyhounds defeated the first place Flint Firebirds 8-7 in a shootout. Tucker Tynan stopped all 24 shots he faced to earn his first career OHL shutout on Saturday as the Hounds won in Saginaw. Sault Ste. Marie moves to within two points of first place Flint in the West Division, improving to 33-18-6-1.

Record night in Flint on Friday
Flint’s Ethan Keppen started the scoring 10 seconds into action against the Soo, setting a new Firebirds record for the fastest goal to start a game on Friday night. Brennan Othmann scored a club record 40th goal of the season, surpassing Ryan Moore’s 2016-17 mark of 39. The records continued as Gavin Hayes set a new Firebirds record for points in a game by a rookie with six, scoring twice while adding four assists. Hayes’ 42 points are the most by a Firebirds rookie in a single season. The ‘Birds lead the Western Conference with a 35-18-1-4 record.

Offensive outburst from London trio
The London Knights trio of Antonio Stranges, Luke Evangelista and Sean McGurn had a week to remember, combining for 32 points over four games. Evangelista led the League with 12 points last week and is now two goals shy of 50 on the season, and four points shy of 100. Stranges had 11 points, scoring a goal of the year candidate on Friday at home to Saginaw. McGurn has now scored in five consecutive games. The Knights surrendered 10 goals in Sarnia on Sunday as they remain without injured goaltender Brett Brochu who has been sidelined since Mar. 8th.
