Goyette and Weeks shine for Wolves
With a new captain in Liam Ross, the Sudbury Wolves snapped an eight-game on Thursday in Peterborough, and proceeded to collect five of a possible six points on their three-in-three road trip to move into eighth in the Eastern Conference. Aired on TSN, the Wolves defeated Kingston 8-4 on Friday as 2022 NHL Draft prospect David Goyette scored an OHL season-high four goals, becoming the first Wolves player to score four in a game since 2019. The OHL Player of the Week built off his Friday effort, recording a goal and an assist on Saturday. Mitchell Weeks made the start in all three games, being named the OHL Goaltender of the Week. Sudbury now owns a 10-18-3-1 record.

Steelheads stay on top
The Mississauga Steelheads extended their point streak to nine games, outshooting the Barrie Colts 37-17 in a 3-1 win on Saturday before edging the Oshawa Generals 3-1 on Sunday. The weekend success included defenceman Kasper Larsen‘s first OHL goal while James Hardie (26-19–45) and 2022 NHL Draft prospect Luca Del Bel Belluz (18-27–45) drew even for the team scoring lead, each with 45 points. Mississauga owns a League-best 23-7-1-2 record.

Storm win in return as Hastings skates in 1000th game
The Guelph Storm prevailed in their long-awaited return as Valentin Zhugin had a goal and three assists in a 7-4 road win over rival Kitchener. Jake Karabela, Braeden Bowman and Luka Profaca all had a goal and an assist while Cameron Supryka recorded two helpers. Guelph earned a fourth straight win, improving to 18-8-1-1, one point back of first place London in the Midwest Division. Linesman Kevin Hastings skated in his 1000th career OHL regular season game, becoming just the third official in League history to do so. Hastings is in his 22nd season as an OHL official, having worked his first game back on Sept. 26, 1999.

Donoso gets his first win
Ottawa defeated Sudbury in a 5-4 shootout win on Saturday as Cameron Tolnai scored the shootout winner and Max Donoso picked up his first career OHL win in relief. Ottawa’s third straight win saw Luca Pinelli earn first star honours with a goal and two assists. Ottawa improves to a 15-17-1-1 record and sits seventh in the Eastern Conference.

Winterton and McTavish boost Bulldogs
The Hamilton Bulldogs had a high-scoring week defeating the Niagara IceDogs 6-2 and the Kingston Frontenacs 8-1. Seattle Kraken prospect Ryan Winterton returned from injury, racking up a career-high five points in his season debut on Wednesday while Anaheim Ducks prospect Mason McTavish had a goal and an assist in his first game with the Bulldogs. Battling for the top spot in the East Division on Sunday, McTavish scored another two goals with an assist to secure the win. The Bulldogs now sit three-points ahead of Kingston for the number one spot in the Division.

Johnston carries CHL scoring lead with 60 points
The Windsor Spitfires had themselves a two-game weekend where Dallas Stars prospect Wyatt Johnston climbed to the CHL scoring lead with 60 points in 31 games. Recording three assists in each game, Johnston has put together at least three assists in four straight outings. Coming off a 6-5 loss to Sarnia on Friday, the Spits returned to the win column on Sunday, defeating the Flint Firebirds 6-3. Newly acquired defenceman Andrew Perrott is off to a hot start with his new team, recording seven points (1-6–7) through his first four games. Windsor sits four points behind the first place Greyhounds in the West Division.

Colts stay hot, Clarke leads OHL defenders
Defeating North Bay 8-2 on Sunday, the Barrie Colts have won eight out of their last 10 games. Anthony Tabak matched a career-high with four points (2-2–4) while LA Kings prospect Brandt Clarke had a similar total with a goal and three helpers. Clarke’s 32 points (6-26–32) over 25 games push him into the scoring lead among OHL defenders. Mack Guzda made 23 saves for the win, improving the Colts to 16-8-3-0. The Battalion have now lost seven of their last 10.

Hounds hold down first in Western Conference
The Soo Greyhounds took back-to-back wins over visiting Owen Sound, holding down top spot in the Western Conference. Tanner Dickinson and Ryan O’Rourke each had a goal and two helpers on Saturday leading the Greyhounds to a 5-2 victory. Calgary Flames prospect Rory Kerins posted his sixth 4+ point effort of the season with two goals and two assists on Sunday to lead Sault Ste. Marie to their 20th win.

Sting have Knights’ number
Ben Gaudreau was at his best on Sunday, making 49 saves as his Sarnia Sting defeated the London Knights in a fourth straight encounter. Sarnia was outshot 51-13, but cashed in on their opportunities while Gaudreau took care of the rest. Nolan Burke netted his club-leading 19th goal of the season as the Sting climbed into a tie for sixth in the Western Conference, owning a 13-13-3-0 record.
