Frontenacs captain Vann Williamson returns for overage season
Kingston, ON – Kingston Frontenacs captain Vann Williamson will return to the club for his overage season in 2026-27.
Williamson had previously committed to Clarkson University following the 2025-26 campaign but has elected to continue his OHL career in Kingston for one final season.
“After taking some time to reflect, I knew in my heart that I wasn’t ready for my junior career to come to an end,” Williamson said. “I felt like I still had more to accomplish here. We have a special team, and I truly believe that we have the opportunity to accomplish something special together.”
Selected by the Frontenacs in the fourth round (74th overall) of the 2022 OHL Priority Selection, Williamson has appeared in 197 career regular season games, recording 11 goals, 43 assists and 54 points. He was named the 48th captain in franchise history following the 2026 OHL trade deadline.
The Ajax, Ont. native played a career-high 67 games in 2025-26, producing six goals and 19 assists for 25 points while helping Kingston finish with a 46-15-4-3 record, the second-best mark in the Eastern Conference.
Williamson’s return provides Kingston with an experienced presence on the blue line as the Frontenacs look to build on their second consecutive East Division title during the 2026-27 season.
