Under-17 Coaches Announced
Team Ontario Director of Operations, Alan Millar, along with the selection committee of the Ontario Under 17 Program Policy and Management Committee are pleased to announce the appointments of Bob Jones as Head Coach, Shawn Camp and Mark French as Assistant Coaches for the Ontario Under 17 Team for the next two respective seasons.

Head Coach Bob Jones is presently an assistant coach as well as assistant Director of Hockey Operations with Toronto St. Michael’s Majors of the OHL. Jones has also held coaching positions with Brampton Battalion and the Soo Greyhounds of the OHL. Bob has an extensive background as a successful coach as well as a player and was once Team Ontario’s captain in 1986-87.
Assistant coaches Shawn Camp and Mark French will also bring a wealth of experience to the program. Camp is currently an assistant coach with the Guelph Storm and French an assistant coach and assistant general manager with the North Bay Centennials.
The staff will be busy preparing for the upcoming Under 17 Provincial Camp, to be held at York University June 21-25. Players will be attending the camp vying for a position on the Ontario Under 17 Team that will represent the province at the 2003 Canada Winter Games in Bathurst, New Brunswick February 22 – March 1, 2003.
The Ontario Under 17 Program is a component of the CHA Program of Excellence and is coordinated through the Hockey Development Centre for Ontario. The program receives financial support from the Ontario Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Recreation. In total, more than 1,000 players will participate at regional identification camps this spring.
