Tuesday Highlights: 67’s seize opportunity

The battle for home ice advantage in the East got a little more interesting on Tuesday as the Ottawa 67’s took advantage of a big opportunity, defeating North Bay 4-3 in overtime to pull within two points of the Battalion for fourth place in the conference.
Entering action locked in a three-way tie for fifth with Peterborough and Mississauga, the 67’s came back to defeat the Troops as Ben Fanjoy tied the score in the latter half of the third before Evan deHaan netted the winner with 16 seconds left in overtime.
Ottawa goaltender Liam Herbst followed up a 41-save shutout on Saturday with 32 saves to record the victory while Artur Tyanulin had a goal and an assist, Nathan Todd scored and veteran Dante Salituro had an assist in his 250th OHL contest.
Mathew Santos, Max Kislinger and Zach Poirier had goals for the Battalion.
The 67’s took two points in their first of seven straight at home. Of their remaining 16 games on the regular season schedule, 10 will be played on home ice.
