Troops end Hockey Day in OHL with win

Sunday January 26 was ‘Hockey Day in the OHL’ in association with TVCogeco who broadcasted a tripleheader of OHL action.

Available to fans in TVCogeco markets across Ontario and on the OHL Action Pak, ‘Hockey Day in the OHL’ began with the Kingston Frontenacs defeating the Belleville Bulls 6-1 at home, followed by the Windsor Spitfires winning a wild one by an 8-7 score by shootout visiting the Sarnia Sting, and wrapping up with the North Bay Battalion grabbing a 3-1 victory at home over the Peterborough Petes.

In addition to all three games, fans heard from OHL players past, present, and future with a variety of in depth features as part of the broadcast package in studio with pre and post game coverage of all three matchups.

Elsewhere in the OHL on Sunday, the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds beat the Plymouth Whalers by a 4-2 score, the Sudbury Wolves also won by a 4-2 margin at home over the Barrie Colts (highlights), the Erie Otters beat the Oshawa Generals 5-4 (highlights), and the Guelph Storm became the first team in the OHL to clinch a berth in the 2014 OHL Playoffs following a 4-2 win over the Saginaw Spirit (highlights).
