Puempel’s Purpose Supports Children’s Wish Foundation
Matt Puempel and the Peterborough Petes are proud to introduce “Puempel’s Purpose”, a community initiative sponsored by John Newman Contracting of Peterborough that benefits the Children’s Wish Foundation.
John Newman Contracting will donate $20 for every goal Matt Puempel scores as well as an additional $5 for every assist he gets. The Peterborough Petes will donate an additional $10 for every goal Matt scores to “Puempel’s Purpose” in support of the Children’s Wish Foundation.
“I wanted to do this after realizing over the summer when a lot of events took place in my life just how fortunate I was to be able to be where I am today. I want to give back and be able to help others live their dream, like so many people have helped me live mine” says Matt Puempel, Co-Captain of the Petes.
“Matt approached us in the summer with his plan” says Petes General manager David Reid. “We felt it was a great initiative. Once we had approval from the Board of Executives we began looking for a sponsor and John Newman Contracting signed on just prior to training camp beginning.”
“When we were approached by the Petes we felt it was a great idea” says Cindy Cross, President of John Newman Contracting. “We support the Petes and are fans of Matt. He is a great player and a great person. To be part of “Puempel’s Purpose” and to be able to support the Children’s Wish Foundation is an honour” adds Jack Cross, Vice President of John Newman Contracting.
Funds raised will go to supporting the wishes of children in the Peterborough riding of the Children’s Wish Foundation.
