David Goyette

David is in his second year with the Sudbury Wolves. He was drafted 11th overall in the 2020 OHL Priority Selection. During the 2019-20 season, the Saint-Jérome QC, native played for the Selects Academy U15 AAA team.  In 65 games, he put up an outstanding 153 points (49G, 104A) on the way to a BEAST U15 (National) First Team honour and BEAST U15 (National) Championship.  During the 2020-21 season, Goyette suited up for the P.A.L Junior Islanders of the NCDC. In 4 games played, he recorded 6 points (3G, 3A).  David Goyette earned invites to participate in both Canada’s National Men’s 2020 U-17 Summer Development Camp and 2021 U-18 Summer Development Camp. During his rookie season with the Wolves in 2021-22, Goyette was the top-scorer of the team, and was first in OHL rookie scoring, recording 73 points (33G, 40A) in 66 games. He was also named “OHL Rookie of the Month” for the month of January, while also named a finalist for the OHL Rookie of The Year Award. David was named to Canada’s roster to take part in the 2022 IIHF World Under-18 Hockey Championship, alongside Wolves’ teammates Kocha Delic and Nolan Collins, recording 3 points (1G, 2A) in 4 games. Following the 2021-22 season David was the recipient of four Wolves’ year end awards including, Bud Burke Top Rookie, Bill Plaunt Top Scorer, Most Goals and the Pete Shields Award for Most Assists. In July of 2022, David was selected in the second round, 61st overall by the Seattle Kraken in the 2022 NHL Draft held in Montreal. For the 2022-2023 season, Goyette partnered with the Wolves to launch David’s Warriors, a program promoting inclusivity and awareness of youth with physical disabilities, as well as healthy, active living through sports.
