Knights stay alive with Game 5 win
The London Knights emerged victorious in a must-win Game 5 on home ice Friday night skating to a 6-4 win over the Barrie Colts in the Rogers OHL Championship Series.
Bo Horvat led the Knights with two goals and one assist netting the game-winner with a shorthanded breakaway marker at 6:21 of the third period.
Seth Griffith opened the scoring for the Knights with his ninth of the playoffs to put the Knights ahead 1-0 after the first period.
The Knights extended their lead to 4-1 after two periods with goals from Chris Tierney, Max Domi, and Horvat, while Mitchell Theoret replied for the Colts.
The teams traded goals in the third period beginning with Ryan O’Connor who brought the Colts back to life early on cutting the lead to 4-2 before Horvat’s winner. Anthony Camara and Andreas Athanasiou also tallied for the Colts, with Brett Welychka scoring the Knights’ sixth goal.
Jake Patterson made 25 saves between the pipes to earn the win.
The Colts still lead the Rogers OHL Championship Series 3-2 with Game 6 set for Saturday night at 7:30 pm in Barrie. Highlights Post Game
