Thursday October 1, 2015
London, ON – The London Knights Hockey Club announced today that the team has named Mitchell Marner and Christian Dvorak co-captains of the 2015-2016 London Knights. Marner, 18, and Dvorak, 19, are both in their third season in the Ontario Hockey League, both having played for the green and gold since the 2013-2014 season.
Marner, a first round draft pick of the team in 2013, has been an integral part of the Knights since his arrival scoring 185 points in 127 regular season games with the team. This past summer Mitchell was selected 4th overall by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.
Dvorak, an eighth round draft pick by the team in 2012, has played 99 OHL games, tallying a total of 123 points. Christian was selected in the second round of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft by the Arizona Coyotes following his rookie season with the Knights. Both players have played their entire OHL careers with the London Knights.
The London Knights also named defenseman Aiden Jamieson and forward Aaron Berisha as Alternate Captains for the team. As in the past, the players got to choose who they’d like to wear letters this season. The vote took place Wednesday afternoon.
