John Moore Commits to Rangers
Kitchener Rangers Head Coach and General Manager Steve Spott announced that the team has officially reached an agreement with John Moore to become a Kitchener Ranger in the 09-10 season.
Chosen in the second round of the 2009 OHL Priority Selection by the Rangers, Moore played the 2008-09 season with the Chicago Steel of the United States Hockey League (USHL).
Spott describes Moore as a world class defenceman that he believes will make an impact with the Rangers organization both on and off the ice.
He tallied 14 goals and 25 assists in 57 games and was named the league’s Defenceman of the Year. Moore was then selected 21st overall in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft by the Columbus Blue Jackets who have signed John to a three-year entry level contract.
Columbus Blue Jackets head coach Ken Hitchcock had this to say about Moore, "We all love his attitude and disposition; his foot speed gets him out of so much trouble all the time. He’s able to get up the ice; he can maneuver away from people."
