Hull records 100th OHL win
Thursday February 4, 2016
Peterborough Petes Head Coach Jody Hull earned his 100th OHL coaching victory on Thursday night as his club defeated the visiting Hamilton Bulldogs 4-1. (Highlights)
A former 50-goal scorer for the Petes before playing a 14-year NHL career, Hull is currently in the midst of his third full season behind the bench in the Electric City after taking over midway through the 2012-13 campaign.
Hull has coached to a 100-98-3-18 mark (.505 winning pct.) during his tenure in Peterborough as the Petes have made the playoffs in each of his two full seasons at the helm. The club reached the second round in 2014 for the first time since an OHL title in 2006, coming back from a 3-0 deficit in the first round to eliminate the Kingston Frontenacs in seven games behind Nick Ritchie’s overtime winner.
The Petrolia, ON, native is the third OHL coach to reach a milestone this season after London’s Dale Hunter became the fastest coach in OHL history to reach 600 wins on October 31st and Barrie’s Dale Hawerchuk claimed his 200th career OHL coaching victory on January 7th. Also of note, Owen Sound Attack Head Coach Ryan McGill earned his 300th career CHL victory on January 21st in Niagara. McGill won 281 games in the Western Hockey League prior to joining Owen Sound this season.
