Greyhounds rake leaves for ARCH Hospice
Tuesday November 3, 2015
Sault Ste. Marie, ON – The Soo Greyhounds traded in their sticks and skates for rakes on Monday morning as they assisted in a clean-up event at ARCH Hospice, a local non-profit.
It was the latest in the Hounds continued commitment to appearances throughout the greater Sault Ste. Marie community.
Ten members of the Hounds roster joined approximately a dozen ARCH volunteers in beautifying the area outside of the facility for residents and visitors alike.
Lee Rendell, ARCH Hospice Fund Development Coordinator exclaims, “Events such as these show what a community-minded and warm-hearted OHL team Sault Ste. Marie has. Having the Greyhounds visit ARCH is a real opportunity for the players as well – they get to interact with families first hand during the end-of-life journey. These type of experiences make you want to cherish every moment in life.”
