Grant Spada commits to Storm
Guelph, ON – Guelph Storm General Manager George Burnett announced today that 2023 tenth round selection Grant Spada has signed an OHL scholarship and development agreement with the hockey club.
The 6-foot-4, 187lb. left-shot defenseman from Fort Erie, Ont. was selected by the Storm with the 194th overall pick in this year’s OHL Priority Selection.
In his OHL draft year, the 2007-born blueliner recorded one goal and 10 assists for 11 points in 35 regular season games for the Halton Hurricanes U16 AAA program. Spada added three goals and two assists for five points in eight playoff games for the Hurricanes. The defender also notched two assists in four games at the 2023 OHL Cup.
“I was so excited to be drafted by Guelph and even more excited now to make this commitment and have this opportunity ahead of me,” said Spada. “I still have work to do to prove myself but I can’t wait to get started with the Storm organization.”
