Friday Highlights: Capital gains for 67’s
Friday January 13, 2015
A busy Friday the 13th across the league saw the Ottawa 67’s stay hot, winning their third straight game as captain Travis Konecny led the charge back to victory after his club fell behind the Belleville Bulls 2-0. A highlight reel powerplay marker from Konecny at 14:20 of the second period was followed up by another on the man advantage from Sam Studnicka at 16:58. Connor Graham netted the winner with just under five minutes to play in the third as the 67’s capped off a 3-2 win to bring their record to 29-20-2-1. Watch
Since his Player of the Game performance for Team Orr at the 2015 BMO CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game on January 22, Konecny has been a force for the 67’s. The first overall pick of the 2013 OHL Priority Selection has points in seven of his last eight games, and has seven points (3-4–7) over his last four contests.
The win puts Ottawa seven points ahead of fifth place Niagara in the Eastern Conference, putting them in good position to secure home ice advantage in the first round of the OHL Playoffs.
Here’s a look at the rest of Friday’s action from across the OHL.
