Battalion graduate Rose commits to Waterloo for 2022-2023
The University of Waterloo Warriors men’s hockey program has announced that North Bay Battalion graduate Simon Rose has committed for the 2022-23 season.
The 20-year-old defenceman will be pursuing a Bachelor degree at the University of Waterloo in the fall. Rose played five seasons with the Troops and is currently playing for the Haliburton County Huskies of the OJHL. The 6-foot, 186lb defenceman recorded 10 points (2-8-10) for the Battalion in 32 games this season. He scored the shootout winner in his final game for the Troops, helping them defeat the Mississauga Steelheads 4-3 on Jan. 6th.
Rose produced 52 points over 172 career regular season OHL appearances for the Battalion. He was selected in the second round (35th overall) of the 2017 OHL Priority Selection from the Pembroke Lumber Kings Midget AAA program.
