Wolves sign ninth round pick Mason Walker
(Greater Sudbury, ON) The Sudbury Wolves are please to announce that forward, Mason Walker has committed to the Hockey Club.
“Mason followed up a fantastic season last year as the NOHA player of the year with a terrific training camp,” said Rob Papineau, Vice President and General Manager of the Sudbury Wolves. He has continued to develop and has been off to a fantastic start with the Sudbury Cubs. He is a very skilled and smart player from Sudbury who we are excited to commit to being part of our future. He will continue to develop this season in the NOJHL but will make his Wolves debut this weekend.”
Mason Walker was selected in the 9th round (174th overall) of the 2024 OHL Priority Selection. Hailing from Sudbury, ON., the 15-year-old played for the Sudbury Wolves U16 AAA team during the 2023-24 season. Through his season with the Sudbury Wolves U16 AAA he played 36 regular season games and 8 playoff games and registered 71 points (37G-34A) and 52 penalty minutes. More recently, this season Mason has been playing for the Greater Sudbury Cubs and has a 1.5 points per-game average with four-goals and eight-assets through eight-games played.
The Wolves are back on home ice this Friday, October 4th at 7:05pm as they host the Peterborough Petes.
